Huddlestone - aylways been a fan but lately he's becoming the player he's always had the potential to be. Niasse - great to see a player willing and able to run at defences. A constant hard-working nuisance. Good finish and unlucky to hit the bar. Clucas - Centre mid is his place. With him and Hudd there who needs Livermore? Pretty much everybody else did well. Was this our second string or is Marco Silva more astute than all of us?
Huddlestone Maguire Niasse Special mention to all who played especially Meyler. Could have been a number of others in my list. Went with those who played 90 minutes.
Thud - class Meyler - what a trier, never gives up and adapts well to wherever he's asked to play Maloney - we need to give him the ball more, he's got such a great turn and first touch, nobody could get the ball off him (unlike Dio, I'm afraid)
Interesting that we haven't really missed our the sold/going players so far, which I thought would be the case. I think Silva has a way of playing which is encouraging and the players left are adapting well. If Clucas and Maloney can get their free kicks working well, we won't even miss Snoddy's delivery of same which is his biggest strength.
If we have to persist with Dio I'd rather Maloney play. Although he's better central. Maybe off Hernandez or Niasse? Niasse looked more of a threat on the left.
