http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor.../newcastle-want-modou-barrow-magpies-12495436 Supposedly after the Swansea winger but tbh I think this is probably a bit of a red herring to make Palace accept or demands for Townsend? Know very little about the lad, maybe our resident Swans fans can give us an idea?
Well if you don't know much about him here's his Wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Modou_Barrow Love how the Chron say he is used to the Championship having played for Blackburn and Forest - his combined total for them? 8 appearances haha. 51 run outs for the Swans since 2014...
He's a speed merchant same as montero but more direct and with less end product. Although if Rafa thinks he'll add something I'm not going to claim I know better. I have liked something about everyone he's signed Thus far. Although I wish jesus wasn't injured as much.
Reported that he has a £5m buy out clause and tbh that's all he's worth. He has blistering, blistering pace but very little end product. He'll have a game or 2 where he looks like he should be playing for a Man Utd and then he'll go a run of 7-8 games where he is crap. I'll be very happy if you sign him for £5m.
It's a shame that Townsend deal is looking dead in the water. Think I'd rather just wait until the summer now rather than bringing in someone who, with the greatest respect, can't get a game for a relegation threatened club.
It is a cross he has to bear unfortunately - good thing is it normally only takes him 3 days to recover from even the most serious injuries.
If you think he has persistent injury problems maybe we should sell him during this transfer window - I believe he would make a prophet.
Like others, I've only seen flashes of brilliance from Barrow. Not keen myself, but if King Rafael sees fit to sign him, then it would be blasphemy to question his genius! Townsend is a London boy, so can't see him coming back to Newcastle United.
Useful to have around the treatment room though. I heard a rumour he was able to make Andy Carroll get up and walk.
Never heard of him or seen him play so I can't comment on how good he is, although if he's not getting in the Swansea side I don't hold much hope. Maybe similar to Atsu? A loan deal would be prudent.
1 goal in 60 games for an attacking player in this country, think he's one of if the worst player in the Premier League. This signing stinks of Rafa not having full control, as he has a brain unlike Carr and Ashley.
Has Graham Carr's MO all over it. The guy that signed Emmanuel Riviere ffs. The sooner that ****er either retires or dies, the better.
