    Must give a massive pat on the back to Puel. His mission was to cope with the most crowded schedule that Saints had ever had and to bring on some Academy players. Yes, we haven't done so well in the EPL as we might have hoped and we would have hoped to get out of the Europa group stage, but it was down to not converting chances. If Puel's system was poor, we wouldn't have had chances...he can't go on and put the ball in the net himself. And look how McQueen, Stephens and Sims have shown they can slot into the team if needed. So well done, Claude.

    Yes, but don't forget that we need to buy a striker and a another centre-back or our season is over. And our lack of ambition, and lousy manager will keep me from buying another season ticket. RIP the dream.

    Needs to rotate! Do we have any other fit players.
    Actually, I was thinking about this. Imagine how flat we'd have felt if we'd lost to a last minute goal. That might have made the Arse game even tougher. I don't know but it's still an important game and we have to show the same kind of commitment.

    Totally agree with the last comment.
    Puel's willingness to risk playing youngsters paid off big time, last night.
    Stephens and Sims were calmness personified and much of that comes from knowing that your manager trusts you to step up.
    Little has been made of the way Sims ran the ball from one penalty area to the other, before releasing the perfect pass at the perfect time. That comes from confidence instilled in him by a manager who understands how to nurture young talent.
    Had that run been made by any of the media's "darlings", we wouldn't hear the end of it.

    Hey I know, who cares, etc, etc we scored, but tiny, tiny point... the pass was made to look perfect by Shane's incredible first touch (he's not known for that), because it looked like it had been over hit to me.... but hey it's "Happy Day" ... great run :)

    Love it that it was Liverpool.. That victory was one of those footballing things that just had to happen! I had a sneaky feeling we'd do it. It was written in the stars.
    Here's hoping we play like that again at Wembley.

    I, for one, was questioning the Sims substitution. Which is just one of the many reasons I am not the Southampton manager.
