I'm sure this will be met with a lot of Town fans going bandy for us to sign him. Personally not that interested, maybe he could do a job for a year but realistically (and he's done nothing to prove otherwise) He'll go were there is the most money and I'd like to think that Paul Jewell has a bit more sense than to pay over the odds for a 32 year old.
I think there are better options out there, unfortunately none of them are as realistic as Bullard but I still aren't that fussed about getting him in. I'd prefer to see Drury given that sort of role as he clearly has a bit of creativity in him and he is already our player.

If he's a born again centre back sign him up, otherwise we need re-infoorcements elsewhere first.

For the right wages, sign him up 100%. He was the difference for us last season, and could lay on countless assists via corners and defence splitting passes, not to mention his freekicks!

Are you having me on this isn't April fools. Drury IS a good player, however Bullard would be something else again. He played quality in one hell of a horrendous side last season.

Bullard, if you do leave Hull, please please come here.

    If he does, fine.

But if he crocks his knee and turns into the dressing room cancer, don't say we didn't warn you.

I'm a little puzzled where all this anti-Bullard brigade have come from. People seem to have put him down as a money grabbing B**ted or not that great.

He would be a superb signing for us and I believe if he stayed fit, with him in the team we would be genuine promotion challengers even if we don't sign anyone else.

Personally I would love to see him back at the club, not only is he a quality player but he is a character on and off the pitch, it would excite me to go to football matches with him in the team. I say all this but we do not want to be breaking the bank to sign him.

    Likewise mate.

If your offered £43,000 a week by a bunch of RETARDS - what are you supposed to do ? Turn around and say " PLEASE offer me less money....... "

If Hull want to pay him £43,000 a week over 4 years - that's 100% THEIR issue.

Likewise, West Ham were gullable enough to pay injury ravaged K.Dyer £83,000 a week.

You really have to applaud clubs like Blackpool + Sunderland for having a wage structure and sticking to it.

You hope in life workers and people will try their hardest and try their best to earn their wages. HOWEVER, in situations like Bullard's the incentive really does go out of the window. Yes - he is a bit of a prankster off the pitch and could possibly have issues off the pitch, but many players do. When you offer an individual that kind of money for 4 years, you are taking a massive massive gamble. Hull ploughed money into staying in the Premier League, quite similarly to us and many other sides.

From our perspective though, if he goes and is available on a freeby then lovely jubbly. Okay, there is the chance he will be injury prone. However, he knows that he will never in his life pick up £43,000 a week again. I'm all for the potential move if it happens.

Thanks for the lovely warning Hull fan. I think we're all rather aware of the risk that comes with Jimmy Bullard from an injury perspective. All I realise that if he is to come, it won't damage us financially like it has you.

At maximum, we would offer Bullard £23,000 a week wages. Lets add on goal bonuses and call it £25,000. Coupled with a signing on fee of say £400,000.
I would also imagine, due to age he would be offered a 2 year deal. This equates to £3,000,000

Lets compare that with £43,000 a week, plus the signing on fee would be a lot more than the £400,000. Lets call it more like £1 mill
Obviously there will be a settlement. I would imagine with him having 2 years of his very lucrative contract remaining totaling £4,500,000 the settlement could be half of that.
    Therefore, at £2,250,000 + £5,000,000 transfer fee + £1,000,000 signing on + 2 years wages at £4,500,000 = a cool £12,750,000 you guys have paid

So even if it doesn't work out, we would have saved ourselves nearly £10 mill compared with what you guys spent.

Lets see what happens. Can see from your perspective why a lot of your fans cannot stand the bloke when you do the maths. When we had Finidi George who from a our perspective was a financial disaster its very hard to like the player...!

Lets see where he goes and who is stupid enough to pay him what he thinks he's worth, don't forget, its rumoured that he doesn't have an agent and is representing himself. If Ipswich are daft enough to be seduced by his undoubted abilities but dubious dressing room attitude, then they must deal with the consequences.

Me, I would have paid him in line with the suggestions above but the previous chairman at City was a muppett and seriously overpaid Bullard in the expectation the Hull City would be in the PL for a number of years, thus covering the whole of his contract.

Whats the danger in Jimmy Bullard????? You lot are nuts. By far our best player last season , fans choice , so what if he's a bit injury prone who isn't these days?
He wasn't out injured with us for long last season so why should he this season, every player has the chance of picking up a serious injury as JB did every time they play.
I'm with Westy on this one, JB knows he won't earn as he did and he enjoyed Ipswich. Hopefully with a pay off from Hull he won't need to earn much and if thats the case why not pick up £23000 a week playing somewhere you enjoy.
We would all do it if we could.

We are all mercenry when it comes to our jobs why should footballers be any different?

Also if Drury and more importantly young Lawrence are going to improve what better than to have JB training along side you.

I am not saying JB is the Messiah and I don't believe we should break the bank for him but if he's available I do believe that we should do our upmost to get him.
