A youngster much closer the to level needed to contribute. Not afraid to turn and get the ball going in the right direction. Deceptively strong for a short lad. Back soon, great news.

Champion, this is what we need. Players that can go into the first team, coming back.

I thought he was just starting to burn out a little before his injury tbh, he had a lot of expectation and played under pressure for a young newbie. Lots of potential, though.

Will be a boost to the team as well hopefully.

Great energy and likes to put his foot on the ball and get involved in the game, not scared of a tackle either.

Think he was also called up to the USA full squad before he got injured as well.

Any returning player is good news. One way or another they all contribute.

Yes it'll be good to have Gooch back, good player to have with you in a fight. Strong and aggressive little bugger who looks to make things happen.

It's good to see the young lad back from injury and in contention for a place in the team again.

But it's also a very sad state of affairs that we're glad to see a player back who's only made 9 first team appearances in total.

I'd rather see Gooch starting than Larsson or Rodwell.

Why is it a sad state of affairs to see him back?

I can only presume that you mean something along the lines of its a sad state of affairs having to rely on him coming back and having to make an instant impact?

Yes, that's what I meant, that there are several posters including me just happy to see an inexperienced lad available again, instead of being excited at a new signing.
