Best wishes to Ryan. I hope he makes a full recovery and look forward to seeing him in a Hull shirt again, hopefully at the Lane

Thoughts with Ryan and his family!

Also can't remember who it was but I think it was Abel but I seem to recall him holding mason down as he was trying to get up after it. Well played whoever it was.

Yeah, first instinct of someone in that situaiton will be to try and sit up and continue or walk it off, but that's the absolute worst thing, so whoever held him down was fantastic.

I think it was Hernandez and Huddlestone. Good on them not letting him get up.

Presumably he'll get support for the psychological impact too. Cahill must be going through it, which would be a shame because there's no blame on him.

There seems to be a lot of comments of support from the football world, which is refreshing, and has got to be a help.

    Fingers crossed.

I think the difference was that Mason took the full force of Cahill's forehead to his temple.

Always gonna come off the worst.

Jees, never realised how serious it was. As has been said many times, football suddenly pales into insignificance. Thoughts with Ryan anf his family. Good to see the football community pulling together

Shocking, and as people have said that noise was disturbing. Best wishes to Ryan and family

Just had a look on a couple Arsenal forums, not a puerile comment in sight.

thinly veiled vexations would be as subtle as a sledge hammer to a certain persons sensibilities.

Press coverage veers from the sensationalist doom (fighting for his life) to the more reserved holding statement (we wait to see).

Makes you wonder what the news is.

    Monday better be good news.

    wow!

this is a physical game, if they take all contact out, it will be like basketball.................. end to end, no touching involved.
    high octane but boring.
each team trying to outscore each other, soon have games like cricket scores, 96 to 94....

Basketball can be quite physical at times.

I think simply introducing a concussion test like a lot of sports have would do. The issue of being down a man is tricky though as a concussion test can take 10-15 minutes I think. In Aussie Rules you can have another player come on during that time but not sure if that would be doable in football.

Has any other club had a succession of injuries to big money signings (for us anyway) - from Bullard, to Snodgrass to Mason? It's like a curse.

I can go further back to Neil Franklin. Was a world record transfer at the time. He had knee problems.
