Should have been a free kick for the first, but Abel went down too easily. Goebel gave the ball away too easily immediately after. If that was Meyler he'd have been slaughtered
Excellent performance by the lads. If we play like this till the end of the season we might just stay up. It's playing like that against the likes of Burnley & 'Boro that we never seem to do... lets hope it'll be different under Silva!
Marco is so coolly diplomatic and remains positive. The players thought it was a foul and a penalty. Damn right they did!
played well but just little mistakes that are costly, Robertson should have stopped the cross, Dawson or Maguire should have marked Cahill. You just carnt do anything about poor officials decisions. Definatley a positive performance
If we had a goalscorer playing today, in place of our goalscorer Hernandez, which chances would he have scored that Abel didn't?
Some of the things they said for those not watching: We have real quality throughout the team. Maguire is impressive. Huddlestone is a quality player. We're not afraid to go to big teams and have a go. They thought we were impressive against Man City, Man Utd and Chelsea. We have real fight. We just lack a consistent goal scorer. We should be okay come the end of the season. We looked good for large parts of the game. They're glad we don't go and park the bus like other teams and we instead fight and compete regardless of who we're playing.
So Silva's said he didn't want to lose Livermore as he was important to us. There were some weaknesses still in the defence, before their first the right back was AWOL on the wing allowing a free cross, and there was a weak clearance straight to their player outside the box for example. Hopefully Silva can now keep who he wants and get them to concentrate and add who he wants so the defence gets sorted, I'm hardly certain of that though.
Totally agree with this! Can't fault any of them today, fair enough Abel didn't hold the ball up very well at times but he's never been known for it and when you go to places like Chelsea it doesn't matter if you have a 20 goal striker, you simply don't get next to any clear cut chances for said player to take. Better ref and we could have come away with a point but as has been said previously, we won't go down because we get beat at Chelsea, we will go down if we don't replicate that performance against boro, Swansea, burnley etc
