Waiting to see the replays, as a matter of interest did you notice if the cross was forward or sideways when it came in to the box?
I didn't think Pierre panicked at all in front of goal. He clearly had 2-0 Saints on his predictor league
Oh and one last thing .... that lad we played on the left looked good too. Good idea that to play him there. Why hasn't anyone thought of that before?
Only one thing could have gone better today. After Tadic's penalty, Kasper Schmeichel whacks the ball away. It's centimetres from smashing Christian Fuchs in the face. Would have been hilarious!
Just got in from Rambling. Great win by match report accounts. Two possible disappointing things. I wish it hadn't been against Leicester City as I like Ranieri a lot, and the possibility that Virgil won't be fit for Wednesday. I'd like to see Florin Gardos on the bench. It's about time his career got underway again and we know that he's a perfectly capable CB. Though I also read that Jack Stephens did well. Good to see CBs stepping up.
Decent performance today, had good spells but at times were pretty average against what was a very poor Leicester side. Brilliant result however. The virgil injury just shows how ridiculous a statement it was from Puel that we don't need another CB. If it is long term then we only have maya and Stephens as CB's.
If I might respectfully add 11. Midfielders getting into the box and shooting 12. JWP sooo much stronger now 13. Another youth product steps in and did OK. 40 mins without VVD and clean sheet
I was sat with my brother and said I would have done that today. Glad he didn't because the rat Vardy would probably have taken Bertrand out too!
I thought we played with verve and the lack of fear that we used to have. We never looked like losing. Leicester are a horrible niggling bunch of cheats. Huth wrestled JayRod so much that JayRod had some mild fisticuffs with him. Albert Steptoe deliberately damaged our CB and they constantly were pulling and pushing at corners without any punishment. Nasty side. And on the way to the ground Onionman Jr and I were discussing how JayRod has been hitting it with his left foot, something I didn't think he could do. Jr's theory is that while his right leg was out of kilter they did some work on his use of his left foot. And, a few minutes after the discussion, JayRod only goes and bangs it in left-footed. Nice. I'm expecting a result against Liverpool and a lovely day out at Wembley. Oh, and we're 11th, a point off 9th. Vin
You needn't have worried. The game was won already as it was my Xmas present. What sort of son would buy his Mum a losing ticket for Xmas. His girlfriend (at her first football game) put a fiver on Saints to win 3-0....how we laughed She was the one laughing when she claimed £65. An enjoyable game...though I got a bit tense when Virgil went off. Leicester have deteriorated badly....but as long as they stay up, they will consider that title win worth years of mediocrity.
Took my son for a rare match today. I work Saturdays so can't make many. Great match. Leicester weren't rubbish. Cedric had a great game. PEH was more attacking and looked good for it. Jay played well too.
