Sorry SC was a bit too blunt.

In Puel's defence: Tadic and Redmond have not been in great form and none of the strikers have been scoring.

Happy to admit I was wrong, Puel is a tactical genius.

Saints ar ethrough having done the absolute bare minimum (10-15 mins running each?).

Plus any Arsenal scouts will have reported back that they could select 11 fans and have a decent chance against us in the next round

With all the 1-0s, 0-0s and 0-1s, perhaps the Banc de Binary partnership made more sense than we thought.

Oh saintsfcfan, not a very positive thread is it.

Must do better for the Leicester game.

Just watched the highlights. Even that was tough. Please don't tell me anything about the game.

Well Norwich were set up not to play at all. 7 in their own box most of the game, so I actually think we did reasonably well just to score. Our defence had nothing to do and we made plenty of chances. Bar a couple of good saves and some poor shooting (no one seems willing to really get their foot through it) we could have had 3 or 4.
Yeah, I know I'll get called an eternal optimist, but at least I'm better than the "fans" sat around me who did nothing but moan about the play, the manager and the players virtually immediately from the kick off. These were the ones crying "get it in the box" each time we went down the wing, then "for ****s sake" when the cross went to one of the massive Norwich back 4 with only josh sims in the middle. The ones who have taught their kids to go "here we go 1-0 down" each time Norwich went forward and hurled abuse at Redmond when he came on and McQueen every time he went down to the byeline. The ones who, when asked why they bother to turn up only to hurl abuse at the players, said "I paid my 12 quid I can say what I like". I think I'm happier with the ones who didn't turn up to be honest.
Prowsey had a good game - nearly got his free kick in. Maya and Jack were solid, though not worried, but Cuco needs to wake up. Long was indifferent on the wing and better through the middle and Josh Sims tried hard but was too often dispossessed.
We do need someone to hit the back of the net - Jay, Shane and Josh aren't reliable enough. But I will NEVER hurl abuse at our players - they did what they could.
Also, Claude was losing it too - he does get angry and I think Cuco probably got some of it.
But a win is a win - I'll take 1-0 v Leicester and the same next Wednesday!

Not read any comments, as just got home from SMS.
    There is a God.
If there wasn't I would have been subjected to a further 30 minutes of dreary, dreadful football.
I genuinely feel sorry for the Norwich fans, having travelled all that way, on a cold winters day, only to watch their own team fail to test our keeper, or even give our very weakened team a game.
For me, just about the only player who was consistently good, for the whole 90 minutes, was Sam McQueen. He put in, probably 6 or 7 crosses that would have had SRL salivating. Unfortunately the recipient of most of them was little Josh Sims, so they all went begging, save for the last one.
Shane Long's love affair with the offside flag continues unabated. Maybe we should buy him a flag of his own.
Scored the winner but he really, REALLY, should have buried that header, and not have to get away with a scrambled goal like that. He got lucky there, but it didn't cover up the fact that he was dreadful for most of the match.
Bottom line is that we are through.

Good to hear from the match goers, and of all the things I've listened to and read this evening, that has made me feel better. Cheers.
