Can't believe I find myself agreeing with RR on a lot of this. Completely disagree on needing Pardew or Pearson, that's complete nonsense, and Pardew for sure would never come here. However, I do agree the SoD was dealt a bad hand, and was on a hiding to nothing, not helped by his inability to deal with the media. And I also agree that Rowett is also not what we need. People are jizzing themselves over him but his record isn't much better than LJ's was. Rowett's entire managerial CV is managing Burton in League Two, then moving to Birmingham, taking them from the bottom to mid table (exactly the same as LJ). The only difference is that he was sacked when in 7th this season, which to be fair, we were hovering around for the best part at the start of the year. Not the credentials needed to take us to the promised land.
Go take a cold shower and lay down for a while, don't worry sense will always prevail and you will be back to normal in no time I would be tempted to go for Uwe Rosler. Only really ballesed up with Leeds but most do in the end there. Apart from the manager that I was hoping we went for last year. And believe it or not when I mentioned Gary Monk most on here said he was not that good only being lucky with Swansea.
Another person I was would not object to is to take a chamce on Ryan Giggs. We've got more chance of him over any of RR's suggestions. Worked with the better known managers and did have a stint at probably the biggest club in the world. Think of the contacts he could bring?
gigs A 1 YEAR, with an option for 2 year contract would be good even if they brought him in like Swindlers have done as a so called matriarch.. to oversee the head coach!
Rosler ****ed up when he was at Wigan, got them to 5th in the league losing to QPR in the playoffs, the next season he got them relegated from the championship
Rob would you want to deal with the media with your hands tied behind your back, and a noose round your neck. I would be put in a straight jacket trying to deal with running the football club, and being told to cut cut cut.
A ****load of managers are put in this situation. SoD should have done better with the media, it's not a rare position to be in
Funny you say that to defend SoD, but yet you've never said anything regarding McInnes who also had to reduce the wage bill and try and get the accademy to cat B. Yet that boring ****wit can do no wrong apart from when you wanted him out. Explain to me what is it he's actually done that makes you think he's so good?
Like I said earlier which you seemed to of ignored was continuously in and around the play offs with one of the lowest budgets in the championship. Just look how Zola is doing with the same team Rowett had. If your favourite manager got us to mid table in the championship continuously you'd be hailing him for the England job by now..
I hate the "sack 'em" culture that the game has now spawned. Most managers are simply not give enough time to really put their stamp on a team and in the long run, being a club that sacks managers at the drop of a hat is simply not going to help. Forest are in this category now. But there are times when a sacking is totally warranted. When a club appears to be imploding and heading south in a hurry, changes need to be made. It's hard, from the outside, to understand what the hell has caused our form to turn so alarmingly so quickly. We are easy prey to everyone now and something has to change now before it is too late. I think Lansdown in a loyal man and this is usually a great quality to have. However, as an astute businessman, he can see that a relegation would financially cripple the club and I just cannot see that he will allow this to happen. Lose at Forest and Johnson has to go. And I see this as the exact scenario as we have no spine right now. Very sad.
When LJ goes, and sooner or later he has to, any Manager with Championship experience or experience at a decent level abroad should be getting their CV's in pronto. Why wouldn't they if they are out of work and looking for their next challenge ? But that's where the problem might lie. Have we previously discarded genuinely talented Managers/Head Coaches in favour of cheaper options, or people who will simply be 'yes' men under the blinkered BS3 hierarchy? We'll never know for certain who applies/has applied previously unless they admit to it when asked. Our club undoubtedly has the potential and leverage not only to reach the Premiership, but to cement a permanent place there too, but we seem determined to make the journey there as difficult for ourselves as possible. If LJ is allowed to stay and we are relegated as a result then there is only 1 person to blame, the owner. The likes of Wigan and Blackburn ain't far behind us, and the form we are in may even see Rotherham catch us in another few games. In addition, I see that Chelsea have now recalled another player. Patrick Bamford was at Burnley but has been summoned back to London. If they decide that Tammy is needed as well then we'll well and truly be in the sh1t.
I'm not sure, who can be, about LJ's position. Didn't Ashton say after LJ's appointment he was 'head and shoulders the outstanding applicant'. The following must be true : Previous applicants were beyond useless, Or, Ashton is as big an idiot as Junior is useless.
