There would be no one left on the pitch after twenty minutes. Other than the last man standing of course.
Exactly this. His entire career here in a nutshell. He was superb in a team with a plan that went beyond treating 0-0 as a positive result . His energy, his tireless running down of every lost cause wreaked havoc and terrorised defences creating the space for the overrated "creative" drama llamas to shine. And he scored more than his fair share too. The clusterfuck of mismanagement he came back into after his double leg break? You'd need to ask the idiots who broke our club but he excelled even in those circumstances. He was never the problem. He may be part of the solution.
Mackie was great yesterday. He was great for us a few years back with some fantastic goals - his superb goal at Man City made by the derided Traore is one of my all time favourite ever QPR goals. He looks fit again and with his style of play he needs to be. Really hope he stays that way because like this he's very useful to have again.
His 3-2 goal vs Liverpool His 2-2 goal at Derby His 2-1 goal at the Etihad That 3-2 goal right up there with Zamora as my greatest R's moment, coming back from 0-2 down being in the loft experiencing it, priceless. The 2-2 equaliser at Derby should not be underestimated, I see it as maybe the main catalyst for our promotion winning season. Gave us tremendous belief. The goal at the Etihad, at that moment in time it was absolutely unbelievable! I almost pinched my arm off. And it probably saved myself a couple of years of my life, it definitely settled down my heart rate. Limited my arse!
Yep. In a game where we couldn't string two passes together and were hanging on for grim death he sprinted the length of the field to meet that cross. Two months after Hughes sent him on against Liverpool to preserve the draw. He got the winner. I really don't get the hate.
The one thing I will also say about clappy Mackie is no matter what fans like me think of his limitations.... He won us 3 points so I take my hat off to him. We don't know how valuable those points may be. So Well done Mackie P.S. I'm so pleased about your celebration, maybe you could have done more like jumping into the stands and headbutting a few of those muppet Reading fans that booed you.
Oh yeah, rub that one in a little bit more, why don't ya ? I was loving being at work while YOU were there in my place
I don't think you can really say that many, if any, QPR fans really 'hate' Mackie. It's just some can be honest in their assessment of his limited abilities. No one at all can doubt his courage, commitment and passion....it's just his footballing skills that some question. It doesn't make people 'haters'
The goose bumps one for me Uber is the one against Liverpool. Sitting in Ellerslie Road with my husband (did I say he supports Liverpool) watching Mackie score when we had seemed well beaten! One of the best nights ever, I am sure he even clapped the Mackie goal just because it was so unexpected and the underdog bit back! Remember the crowd singing all way back to the station, great night at Loftus Road under the flood lights a memory that stays with you!
Great post Norway. That winner against Liverpool is right up there as one of my best rangers moments too. I was in ellerslie and the place went wild. I do think he's a limited player, but there's nothing wrong with that. He also has the advantage of believing that he can make things happen. As I said, he's just the kind of player we need right now and would always be valuable for us in the championship.
Scott Chegg @ScottChegg2016 4h4 hours ago I'm still in shock and disgusted at how a Reading legend can celebrate scoring against us. Shame on you Jamie Mackie #Scum #readingfc
I have you to thank Staines for my two most special Rs moments. Sorted me for a ticket for Wembley too. Top man.
Well, for a player often derided as limited I have personally seen him score away at Man City, away at Man United and smack one in against Liverpool. Not sure how many qpr players in the past 20 years have achieved that ? Throw in his sensational championship promotion season and I just don't get the hate. For such a limited player I'm sure many others would love to emulate his QPR record
