Hopefully. You'd need to be pretty ****ing dim to miss an opportunity like this.

After we were awarded the COC, the club issued a begrudging congratulatory statement on being awarded The CAPITAL of Culture. Pathetic, as it would have been mutually beneficial.

Went to Ferens yesterday, the place was busy, and amongst the many items was Pietro Lorenzetti’s ‘Christ between Saints Paul and Peter’, this piece being over 700 years old and on show in a glass case. But it has 3 lights above it and unless you view at an angle you don't get to see the whole image as reflections from the lights obscure the whole thing. Lots of stuff to see but as with art there is some lovely stuff to see but a lot I would have put in the bin, not sophisticated enough to appreciate it I suppose.

Link? (as the popular question goes)
    Nonsense anyway
    City could absolutely been involved
There's already been football related events, and others to come. (And RL events) One of the main tag lines is even taken directly from the 'here for the culture' chant which I've discussed with Martin Green myself. City could have become a major partner, but they chose not to
A kit would have been excellent.
It's simply the fact that to be involved in CoC would also have meant being closely involved with the Council...therefore they've chosen not to
As Askew said they even had a cheap shot at the start when they refused to use the word 'City' in their congratulations message!

As it's a line made for them, has the pathology lab done anything?

Anybody just hear 'By the Tide of the Humber' on Radio 4? Great 30 minutes from Sean O'Brien, a Hull lad.

Me and the missus went to Ferens art gallery this morning, first time in many years. Very pleasantly surprised at the number of families with young children in there, hopefully a sign of a cultural legacy. Lots of people in Victoria Square, the CofC really seems to have transformed the city centre.

Tonight, Monday 16th, Bbc 1 7.30. On 'inside out', the story of how the blade got to Victoria Square.

From Ehab's visitors guide to the KCOM (which starts 'Thank you for choosing to visit the KCOM Stadium. On behalf of everyone at Hull City Tigers, I look forward to welcoming you to East Yorkshire')...

    CITY OF CULTURE

Hull was announced the winner of the UK City of Culture 2017 in 2013. The award is given every four years to a city that demonstrates the belief in the transformational power of culture.

The arts and cultural programme for the year will celebrate the unique character of the city, its people, history and geography. In 2017, the programme will run from 1 Jan to 31 Dec. This year will be split into four seasons, each with something distinctive, intriguing and created to challenge and thrill.

The Tigers have already got on board with the UK City of Culture theme by using music on a matchday and on our official YouTube channel to promote local bands and artists.

We would encourage all travelling fans in 2017 to embrace the City of Culture year and check out all events that may coincide with your visit to Hull.

Sums up Ehab's football knowledge in one sentence.

Fans don't 'choose' to visit stadiums. They go there out of need, obsession and fanaticism because that's where their football team is playing..

Oh FFS give it a rest picking at every little ****ing thing.

Oh hang on. So youre saying all these stay aways who refuse to go arent obsessed, fanatics with a need to support their team? And i thought they were the hardcore support. Interesting.

No you haven't Ehab. You've used local bands so that you don't have to pay the PRS license. Lying twat.

Good to see the club getting involved as well as supporting local bands both in the ground and online.

Other than using the company name, which is a bit annoying now, hard to see owt wrong with this.

This is untrue. They still need a PRS license.

As far as I'm aware, it doesn't matter where the performers are from when it comes to the PRS fees.

It was reported a while ago that they'd stopped paying for a PRS license when they started playing local bands only.

Right, well they obviously don't understand what it's about! If they're playing music to the public, it makes no difference who the music is by!

Edit: just seen Renegade's post. He's right!
