Oh I agree that he's a fantastic talent and once he's upto speed will be bloody brilliant. He's more of a forward than a midfielder though. For example, Sanchez is a forward, Ozil is an attacking midfielder. We need an Ozil type.
I feel for long, our slow build up play completely doesn't suit his game. Don't get me wrong he hasn't been great this season, but our system doesn't help him. The worrying thing is our how all of our attacking players are all out of form. As a manager you have to be able to see that, and then change something to alleviate that. Puel may not have the players to play exactly the way he wants to play, but surely he must see we need to change the way we play to get results?
Did he really? Strewth, Jay doesn't need that. How old is his brother, 12? That can be a difficult age.
https://twitter.com/JoeRodriguez9 If you go back down the list, it appears that he started following a Twitter account called "Puel Out" at some point, too.
Basically he bitches on that his brother didn't need resting, and that the football is boring, to slow etc. Couldn't understand why he didn't play Jay Rod at his old club etc etc
And nothing. It will be quite a step back if this season we ended up being worse than four years ago.
Guy needs to take the glasses off and see Jay isn't adding much. Lol at wanting Jay and Long to start upfront together. I am sure that will change much...
On this day last season we were one place higher with 3 extra points having just beaten Watford at home.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35239745 Not really much of a step back....
Sometimes in life you have to take a step back before going forward again. Don't remember us being 1-0 up at half time in a semi final four years ago. Or beating Inter Milan at St Marys.
To be fair though, we did have to have almost title winning form for the second half of last season (second only to Leicester, was it not?) to make up for the first half of the season, and ensure that our overall upward trajectory continued. I'm not sure we've got it in us to repeat that this year. It might only be a three point differential today, but what will it be in three weeks, six weeks, nine weeks etc. (Although I do agree, we're not a step back from four years ago)
