i am proposing this magnificent victory at championship derby county as shrews greatest win this century. can anyone think of a bigger game town have won. floreat salopia, floreat graham turner and floreat rowland wycherley, do hope you and the decanter got back in one piece
there were quite a few L2 casualties tonight i just hope there is a goodly crowd in at the railway inn at yorton tonight with the floor awash with shropshire lad and parsnip crisps
We were exceptional tonight. As good a team performance as I can remember. Wright and, especially, Ainsworth roasted their full backs. Morgan and Collins were relentless, Sharps and Hazell solid, Regan and Sherriff (who's started the season in great form at left back) worked well with their wingers, Smith made 1 or 2 great saves and, perhaps most pleasing of all, Wroe and Richards were tireless in the middle and showed real quality on the ball. Time and again we passed it through them. Could we be on the way to cracking the midfield conundrum that's held us back for so long? We had two good penalty appeals turned down - apparently the linesman flagged for a penalty on the first handball at 0-1, but we know all about refs and linos don't we? On the second, Collins did all the hard work beating defenders, set himself to shoot and promptly went down. Not the moment you'd choose for simulation. If he dived, why no booking? Or did the ref think it was a clean tackle? Like to see replays of both decisions. Wonderful night - outstanding performance, fabulous support from 800-1,000 Salop fans and a 2-3 goal margin wouldn't have flattered us at all. Floreat Salopia - it bloomin' well is!
I take it you went Shrewd? It sounded great on the radio. Looks like the whole team played well, shame that they did the classic at the start of the second half by being sleepy as the whistle went to begin play.
welldone shrews what a fantastic win against one of our local rivals, your a credit to lower league football hats off to you!
No, we just know how to get the best out of players. Speaking of reserves, how's Matt Harrold getting on (and how many free kicks has he conceded)? I was there Matster & loved every minute. Missed our 3rd goal though as I was still texting my brother (with the Derby fans) after the 2nd!
best part about last night for me is the way Ainsworth plays he was awesome, and thats also the best ive seen Marvin play too, again we had a good lead but started to fold again, and it now gives Derby the chance of running off with the spoils in the second leg, but more importantly we have two hard away games coming up and cant afford that slack defending we witnessed in the second half, but a much improved performance all round
Let's see how it pans out with the free kicks to goals ratio. Nothing against Matt Harrold, who I wish well (even at Gas!), but I think MMM might be the better bet for us.
In a quality side likes ours? He will get 15-20 easy All we really require from Harrold is holding the ball up, and laying it on for our other strikers to put it away
let us see how the gas get on against watford. oh dear how sad never mind. i suspect there may be an away goal fest at the gas on 13.9.11. after all town were 3-0 up away to a championship team derby currently filling a promo place to the premiership. as for our journey to wembley i am slightly concerned about man u, man city, chelsea and liverpool, but the rest are pushovers. floreat salopia mes amis. time for the gas to blow off
hey gashead i cannot believe all gasheads are as thick as you. prediction. you heard it here first. gasheads 1 shrews 5. yes. is the gas game going ahead or are you rioters missing the game
Jack, you should be locked up. You are complete insane 5-1 to the shrews? you wuill bottle it when you play us and you know it. Although I suppose your so used to it, it doesnt matter anymore
