20th Century British Painter. Distinctive way of painting the human shape. It's only the second week and I'm already all cultured up me...
I must confess at this point I didn't even look at the picture...I would have recognised that of course!
I've just left the Ferens opening event It is brilliant, really well done without actually changing too much of the original feel of the place Return from Inkerman is still there pride of place, but there's loads of other stuff and the Lorenzetti is certainly worth a look (Sienna 13th C...apparently...I mainly liked the colours) I didn't realise that it's the only one in the UK ...also the canapés were quite nice and the fizz was served in decent sized glasses so top marks all round!
The sweet ones were definitely nicer... But they were all incidental to the actual reason for being there. As you said I thought the combination of old and new worked well, although I could see people who won't see the roof space querying where the money went. The extended cafe I thought looked good and the entire place has been freshened up nicely without just trashing it and starting again.
Spot on. great to see it open again, and it sounds as if it's going to be a good years programme there too
