http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/10722510/whats-happened-since-red-monday Interesting article by Skysports. I'm sure Diego and his clan would have you believe utd have been closing the gap on us, but since 'Red Monday' (stupid name) we have actually gained points over utd, had more clean sheets and scored 12 more goals.
The Reality since Red Monday Over the first 6 games the gap extended by 6 pts In the last 6 games it's closed by 4. Overall it's extended but the current trend is it's closing and a Utd win on Sunday wil close it to a miserly 2. I'd take a draw right now. That will be a good result.
As much as I want a win we cannot lose that game. Can't see us changing tactics but if Jose looks to park it we can't get frustrated and have to get the balance between attack and defence right.
The "current trend" is based on Man Utd beating relegation candidates thanks to offside goals being allowed and the worst red card you'll ever see I'll take the win thanks
Weird isn't it how Mourinho is a manager who just takes bad memories and bad feeling around with him everywhere he goes despite the success he's had
That's what I love about Klopp. He has stories to tell and looks back at previous jobs with pride and fondness. You daren't ask Jose about his past because he's just a ****.
I hope they attack us. If on form, our forwards will out score theirs. I'd actually fancy us if we slugged it out....If we are slow to turn up or not on our game then Utd would win as we concede too easily still. Both teams attacking would be a great game to watch, I'm sure. That said, I expect a dour affair with Mourinhos tactics squeezing the life out of the game..... either way, I hope we just play our game and finish our chances. An early Liverpool goal would see the game explode into life....
I really hope we don't start tentatively, when we do that the game rarely ends well. We need to go at them from the off.
You guys need to thank astro for jinxing this game. Statistically, more than 50% of his #called its end up in a HIAG like wummess
Think Mourinho will not want to lose to us at home so he will go defensive, then bring Fellaini on for the last 10 minutes and play hoofball.
Interesting article ut its fair to say utd are much improved since then and really its all down to city not beating them up in league cup and its city who have fallen apart. We on the other hand have done "ok" since... as have utd. It is going to be a game with a lot of good players on show.... with a piss poor ref.
United have played teams they should beat and have done. Can't knock it, they're starting to shape up. A win would be massive considering we have Chelsea and Spurs soon. If we leave January in decent shape we can have a great season given our run in. A draw would be the realistic and still positive result. Need to avoid losing and hope two of the league's most defensive managers can help us out vs Spurs and City this weekend.
To be fair, a draw will suit us more than United. Although both teams really need 3 points. We can't let Chelsea go away again in our pursuit of the title. And the mancs have to win to close the gap with us and the other CL contenders. One thing is certain. Mourinho will be wanting 3 points and we simply cannot lose. Psychologically a defeat will be damaging for us and give them momentum.
