Not a bad race but this one could be a bit of value. We can make excuses for the three P's, didnt take to fences twice and too far back over hurdles recently. His mark is back down to his last winning rating of 115 although Alex Dunn is no Pip Hobbs. A first time tongue tie may eke out some improvement too and the return to a firmer surface will definitely help. Niggled by the trip maybe being a tad sharp but should be ok and decent jockey getting the leg up.

I think the bottom weight should piss this. And there are a few others also preferred. Kublai has no chance but should be watched to see if there is enough improvement to pick up a race in the near future. Too much on his plate in this race.

If that isn't enough to make you lump on ............. <laugh>

2pm Newcastle - Temasek Star. Short price at 5/1 but should win, Ant sends it all the way over from Ireland, good trainer too, took over from the late Patrick O'Brady.

Interesting the shrewd man he is Tony Martin sends one over to Hereford with Davy Russell on board and abit of money is coming in for it- I'm sure this one won't have come over for a "schooling session" <laugh> Got 3/1 last nite but 11/4 is still available - can see it going off a much shorter fav

Also like Rayvin Black 2.20 Hereford interview with Sherwood - said he taken to fences really well and should have really put him over fences last year - soft ground will be in his favour looking forward to see how he goes

Hello, everyone. Old boy Barney From Tyanee was a strange one yesterday. Cantering 2 from home and then found very little off the bridle. I see the ‘Racing Post’ use the very damning words ‘out battled’ to describe his 1.5 length defeat. He’ll probably get a 4 or 5 lbs rise in the perchings for that effort and I can still see him being worth another go off something around the 105 mark.

This one jumps off the page alright. But The Gangster has only had 6 winners from 149 runners over jumps this season. That 4% :emoticon-0104-surpr
