Took my lad on Saturday , he's a Newcastle supporter, he's been Living there a few years.. I asked him which of our players He would have in his team, He said straight away clucas. He was very impressed with him.
Great for the lad who seems to understand and appreciate what he now has, great for Hoddle in proving his model works, great for City who will hopefully benefit for a few years more.
Great story of a young lad who never gave up and is just getting better every year. I hope we can hang on to him for years to come. I remember his family at the Wembley playoff with the Wendies. He's certainly made them proud. So pleased for him and them....well done Sam.!!!!

I know the Jerez side of it closed about 5 years ago.I was over there 6 years ago and watched them play a league game.Clucas was even skinnier then! There was a fall out with the locals who didnt settle bills with GH so he brought them all the lads home.

It shut in 2011 apparently. Swindon were going to appoint Hoddle manager and he was going to run his academy as a sort of feeder for the club, but they decided to go for Di Canio and Hoddle closed the academy.
Clucas is probably my favourite City player. He's been excellent so far this season and it's a real shame that if we do get relegated - he'll be one of the first of our assets to be snapped up. He looks completely at home in central midfield, I'd say that's his best position. He's a great example to young footballers who get released from clubs at an early age, keep the faith, work hard and you can achieve your dreams.
This article is so sad, and indicative of the old school backwards coaching and thinking at grass roots up to youth team level which many hold as one of the reasons we don't produce top class players like other European countries.
