QPR had 24 wins last season, so anything above that would be good?

But would that QPR team get promotion this season? Last season was pretty poor and the quality of te league is much stronger this season. I think we'll need around 30 wins for auto's.

Exactly, 24 may guarantee top 6, but with the quality of the league do you really think we can get more?

Remember, the increase in quality is spread among more teams, so anyone can still beat anyone and so the 88/90 points should still be enough

As Boris says, more quality surely suggests a bigger spread of points.

30 wins to secure automatic promotion!?!? You wouldn't expect the second placed teams to lose more 7 or may 8 max, that means 98 pts to guarantee 2nd spot. I'd feel very very sorry for a team if they got 97pts and didn't get promoted.

I think 80+ points would put you in with a good chance of second and I think 85+ will definitely be enough.

Sorry, got it wrong there. Of course if there is a more competitive league, more take points of each other and it's less for promotion and more to avoid the drop rather than vice versa.. I think KTF has got it right in that 80-85 should see us in the PL next season.

Well with the likes Barnsley, Coventry, Derby, Peterborough and Bristol City- it's quite possible.
