It's early days but it is starting to appear that way. Part of me still thinks Simpson will come good, I'm having real doubts though.

Surely tonights stats (added to the Blackpool game) scream outloud that :

    WE NEED A NEW STRIKER!!

15 attempts on goal off target and only 5 on target!!! Increadible!!

Agree on the striker front. Simpson cannot score. Mclean is alright just misses easy ones like simpson.

I wouldn't be happy if we didn't get another option up front before the window closes.

    No kidding.

According to Burnsy Rosenior is injured, so that means at least half the team that started tonight will be starting again at the weekend unless somebody is signed this week. (East, Chester, Hobbs, Simpson, and Fryatt the only available options in their positions)

Didnt go tonight but stats look very bad! Even though with a good team out, I know it's early season still but not as optimistic as a week ago

Didn't sound too good. Think we might see a loan signing coming in. And whoever it was (somebody called 'Ash') who just text RH saying we should replace NP with Dave Jones.....well, I'll let the following posters decide what he should do with himself. On a lighter note, Pusic and East looked decent!

I tried to remain positive after friday night, but tonight i am struggling. This time last week i was full of optomism, that optomism is gradually fading. With a near strength squad out tonight the lads need to take a good hard look at themselves in training these next few days and get focused. I really hope we can rectify tonight with a good away performance on Saturday to get us up and running, but from what i'm hearing from tonight with the strikers again not firing i'm not overly confident. 2 good away performances with some points and most people will be happy again by the time Palace roll in to town. I only hope we can put tonight behind us, god knows us fans need it. Not time to panic yet and hopefully tonight will act as a kick up the backside/ reality check, and not the start of anything serious. A big 3 days ahead to try and put things right.

Hmm, While it's not fun to lose, I think it may be good to knocked out of this cup early.

End of the day we're a million miles away from ever competing for the cup when the latter stages always features a top four side, so why bother and waste the preparation time and fitness when we can concentrate all our efforts in the league.

Every year there is a championship side who battle far in the cups, but they always come a cropper in the league. Hell, look at last season, Ipswich got to the semi finals against Arsenal and plummeted down the league. Reading had a good cup run in the FA cup, but came to nothing. These extra games definitely have an impact on the players come the end of the season.

    Onwards and upwards.:smiley-finger007:

Just got back from the game, that was just awful.

Burnsy saying that Danny East was the highlight? I thought he was awful too.

I wasn't too down after the Blackpool game, seemed like we was just unlucky. However, i'm worried after tonight. Fryatt can't pull the trigger, he never seems to want to take the shot. Simpson missed a sitter. We couldn't get close to breaking down a Macclesfield defence who were fairly well organised, there will be plenty of better teams coming to the KC and doing the same thing this season, it doesn't bode well. Occasionally we managed to get it out to the wing but good crosses were few and far between.

We couldn't seem to stretch their defence. Devitt drifted inside all the time, so there was no wide option a lot of the time. When there was an option to hit it wide, our midfielders didn't see it, or didn't hit a good enough ball to find the winger. Four or five of our players just packed the "D" at the edge of the area and seemed to think that would generate a goal scoring opportunity.

It is only a Carling Cup game, we have other players to come back etc... but tonight was supposed to boost the confidence of our players (especially attacking players) and it did the opposite. However talk of "Pearson Out" is just ridiculous.

    Is McLean fit for Saturday?

Is that guy crown jewels idiot twin? Too early in the season to say where we will end up. When we got promoted were getting hammered 4-0 then turned it around.

Long way to go yet mate. Shouldn't you be focusing on your own team?

lets not hide behind the "its only the league cup"....it was ****ing awful, and mainly from the 1st teamers!..
complete waste of time and money, could have put both to better use getting ****ed off behind staples..and it would have been more enjoyable..
if hobbs and mckenna are going to be 1st team mainstays, where in trouble! ****ing **** in 2 home games now, chopra will rape there arses!
pearson could have at least made some late changes, or put hobbs up top for some long balls, did we have 1 shot on target?? macclesfield didnt get out of 2nd gear!...macclesfield!!!! he was just happy to let the game peter out as normal, maybe didnt wana be in the cup, well ill have me tenner back for starters!
