Yes, he is occasionally slightly amusing, but nowhere near as often as he's an unacceptably vile, foul-mouthed keyboard warrior. While some on here may well agree with your last sentence, it's distressing that you (or anyone else) could attach any credence to your first sentence above. As a two-time cancer survivor, and grandfather to six young kids, I find your claim to be a long way from being remotely funny. I vaguely remember SCB trying to pull that one, once before. He's well known for pulling out other people's posts from his vast archives (!!!), then either modifying them or grossly distorting/twisting what was written (or was obviously intended to be written).

I agree with any display of disapproval of the Evil Nile Paddlers, as noted at greater length elsewhere. You'll find it in your vast archives, if you look hard enough. When you pay for the rights to a cup with a distinguished history, you don't sully the reputation by dwelling on the plight of one club. The papers can have their say but the Beeb is just doing its bit to keep the Cup special. Editorial decision and I can see why they did it.
