QPR make a bid for Bristol City winger Luke Freeman
    By a_stockhausen

Queens Park Rangers have made an offer for the Bristol City winger Luke Freeman, it has been reported.

QPR are keen to sign at least one winger during this month's transfer window and now they have bid for Freeman, Sky Sports has reported.

It is believed QPR are also looking to take Kazenga LuaLua on loan from Championship leaders Brighton.

Freeman, 24, has impressed for the Robins since being signed from Stevenage in 2014, particularly after his wonder goal against Ipswich Town in December.

Having registered his first ever goal at Ashton Gate with a quite brilliant left-footed volley from outside of the penalty area, the 24-year-old Londoner spoke of the mind-set that encouraged him to risk failure in front of a big audience.

While acknowledging that his shot could easily have ended up in row Z, the former Arsenal and Gillingham winger nevertheless insisted he would do exactly the same if the situation were to arise again in the future.

At the time he said: "I'm one of those who is never afraid to try things, even if they don't come off. If you are not bold and brave, then you will never do anything in the game. I always back myself – sometimes it works, other times it does not. That's how it goes."

In total Freeman has made 105 league appearances for City and has scored 10 goals, with two of them coming this season.

He started his career at Gillingham and was snapped up by Arsenal in 2008, but did not make a first-team appearance for the Gunners before leaving to join Stevenage four years later.

LISTEN TO the Ashton tape ...OK could be build up to inflate transfer price but I think he will play a part unless silly money comes in £4-5m

    QPR fan in peace lads.

Any chance of an honest assessment of Luke Freedman, plusses and minuses?

I heard he's out of contract in the summer so getting 4-5 million now would be fantastic.

Great at dribbling, pretty decent at crosses and passing. His movement is good, he was described as a budget David Silva by the Guardian I think. Problem is, he does tend to spend too long on the ball deciding what to do, his shooting is abysmal, and is prone to inconsistency.

I really do rate him though and in the right team he could be really decent. He was an integral part of us dominating League One put it that way.

Agree with a lot of what's been said before. Very left footed though. If he was as good with both feet he would be terrific. Been playing a lot better this season. Probably a great League 1 player rather than consistent championship.

contract expires on 30th June 2017 .... I would suspect after the window he will be offered another deal ..... if he hasn't gone by then. Ashton did say we do not want to get rid of any of the squad ......

    Freeman to QPR ?

Presume Junior signed O'Dowda and Paterson thinking they're as good or potentially better than Freeman.
    Might be good business.

great sum up - of all the players you'd have expected to make the step up, Luke was the one but has been such a letdown!

Still time for Freeman to catch fire, and like Rob said, in the right side he could be the icing on the cake.
I guess its up to LJ to make him a success at AG by putting together 'the right side'
