Van Der Weil is a decent player, I'm sure he left PSG for nowt in the summer, maybe that was the season before? Emenike is utter guff nowadays.
Van der Weil has been no more than average for a while now. Emineke looked ****e at West Ham. We'd be handing over two very good players, for two very average players.
Just out of interest, how many of JD's goals this season have been from the penalty spot. Is it about 4? I'm as big a JD fan as anyone on here but is it possible we are overrating him. Would he be so much in demand if Borini was our penalty taker and Jermaine was on about 6 or 7? I agree we should definitely keep JD, both on the field and off the field he's been the model professional. He is priceless to us but if the worst happened and he went for say £18 million, at his age and taking penalties into consideration, we could be mugging whu. Nevertheless, we really must keep him, the above excuse is only to be used in the worst case.
To be honest in Lens and Khazri we have 2 players we can sell in order to bring new players in. Let's face it we need a centre midfielder and at least 1 more defender.
my thoughts exactly, sell the players and let moyes have the option in who he wants to bring in. assuming of course the funds are available?
Stoke seem to be happy to let Bojan leave. Any good for our predicament? Providing we let Khazri and Lens go permanently?
I think Moyes should remove his head from his backside over Khazri and be looking to bring him back into the fold. We should never have let Lens leave either. These are two good players who could be helping us who have been sidelined and/or replaced with the sporadically excellent but largely ineffectual Januzaj who Moyes seems to have some kind of soft spot for.
Have the players had enough time to show what they are about in a red and white shirt? Obviously they don't fit in the Moyes team so its a no brainer to get rid of them if we can get some £££'s for them. Might upset a few lads on here but Khazri is a different player from last year, might be due to new manager and Lens has almost gone anyway.
He's never been giving a fair chance to show what he can do (even though he showed last season, what he can do) To play Januzaj when we have players like Khazri at the club and Lens who could be recalled, is absolute shambolic. It's beyond belief.
I know that, mate. That's why it's shambolic. He prefers Januzaj instead of Khazri Lens wont come back because of the way Moyes treated him.
It's funny how many of you can simply comprehend the attitude and commitment of Januzaj being a major factor in letting himself down, but you seem to be dismissing it as a theory as to why Moyes doesn't like Khazri. Khazri has always been the type of player to just stop trying, I likened him to Adel Taarabt before he joined you, he's got the skill to carry a team but the attitude to hold that team back. This isn't a defence of Januzaj by the way, I know he's gone to ****, but there's a reason the fat *Tunisian is not getting games and I doubt it's solely to do with Moyes' affinity to our young Belgian.
Yeah I agree, it shouldn't be this way, though. We should be sending Januzaj back. Moyes is seemingly restricted as **** when it comes to knowing his footballers. 7 of his summer signings come from the North West. Joke.
You're right, It shouldn't be this way but unfortunately managers have their favourites. See if Moyes picks him tomorrow and rests Janusaj?
to be fair to Moyes, when Khazri has come on he's looked lethargic and ineffective - especially if he looses the ball. Agree he finished last season strongly and was impressive during the run in. Not sure if he's already left for ACON but be interesting to see if he starts tomorrow against Burnely and what kind of performance he can muster.
Too many separate points to reply to so I'll just do it in one hit: Clearly Moyes doesn't rate Khazri but the player showed last season what he can. Maybe he does have an attitude but if Moyes thinks he can manage the attitude of Januzaj why can't he manage the attitude of Khazri? Suggests favouritism to me and furthermore Januzaj's form has always been sporadic whereas Khazri played well for a sustained period after he arrived here. Moyes recruitment this summer reminds of me his approach to the appointment of backroom staff when he arrived at Old Trafford. He was prepared to remove the established order to bring in what he was familiar and comfortable with. At the end of last season winger/atracking mid/number 10 was the position were best-stocked with good players in. Centre mid and striker were far more pressing issues and yet it was this position that was tinkered with most, loaning Lens, dropping Khazri, recruiting Januzaj. Seems an odd approach to me.
Fair points mate but we'd have kept Januzaj ourselves if previous season performances were what earned you a spot in the team, instead he got lozzed off to Dortmund cos he wouldn't or couldn't adjust to LVG's system. I think Moyes is a complete idiot by the way so I'm not sure why I'm defending any of his decisions, I just think it's too simplistic to assume that lad could make a difference and you fans know better. We've seen it all too often when players just give up, he's showing all the hallmarks of doing just that.
