Forsters kicking was better. Jack Stephens had a good game. Can't really think of anything else good about the day. Two poor teams fighting out a draw for three quarters of the game

You know as well as I do the club control our transfer activities......they've taken all the credit (black box etc) when we've got it right most times, not Koeman, Pochetino or whoever the managers been. So after a very underwhelming transfer window last summer, you can't put that all down to Puel.

Good team into crap one....bit harsh...I agree not as good but my point is the club has to take the portion of the blame for that. As from my original post, this summers window is massive in that we must sign quality, which entails spending cash. Get it wrong then your transition prediction may ring true.

How many teams have defensive midfielders as small as Reed and Clasie? Even Davis and a few others aren't that tall or physical. With Morgan and Vic we were used to dominating midfields we can't do that now. The screen in front of our back four is a tad porous

We have missed a Lambert/Pelle type targetman this season...they were always available as an out ball and could be relied upon to keep good possession in the oppo's half and creating chances with their intelligent lay offs. Finding a long term replacement for Mane is tricky though, he could win a match on his own on his day and those players don't come along too often.

It for me wouldn't be so bad if we went out with a bit of a bang, really had a go at teams, real desire and some passion, but this manager has instilled boredom, dullness and damn right negativity.
It's not the defeats but the manner of them, and they blame tiredness.....Puel that's bullshit

He is currently the boss of Sheffield Utd (where he replace Nigel Adkins) but was originally on Southampton's books as a youngster although never got to play for the first team. Not someone I was aware of either , to be honest. His name was mentioned as someone that Saints would need to have on their radar. Both gentlemen were involved with the game / Southampton FC.

Going to need two strikers, attacking midfielder who can actually score, DM and 2 CB's as ours will be off.

Yes I was saying this to my brother today. We are seriously lacking a goal scoring midfielder, one who is not afraid to shoot and who is good at it into the bargain, who can score 10+ goals a season. A poor man's Alli (Sigurdsson).

Did a few tweets about the current situation earlier - this is what I think...

What concerns me most (arguably more than OTT tinkering) is that as soon as a goal goes in our net, the performance falls apart. However, I don't think you can justify mid-season sacking of manager in top half, but facts: dull football, no cutting edge, wasting chances.

What does need to happen: manager needs to work out best XI and play it, sign a new striker, fans stop slaughtering own players. Ultimately, the stats shows the team creates chances, but doesn't score them. Depressing predictability about recent matches.

Someone has to make the call on whether the squad is letting the manager down, or if the manager can't get the squad going. But that's about all there is to it, I think. Some of the hysteria and reactions (at this stage) are massively out of proportion.

Aha but no because every time I say we haven't replaced Pelle I get told austin replaced him. And each time I laugh because surprising as it may seem to some we needed both.

Would happily swap Long, Davis, Clasie, Redmond, or maybe all of them for Snodgrass
