Mourinho to be the best modern Man Utd manager with 71 points:

Seems quite easy for them now though doesn't it. 63% that's win 12 out of 19. They could lose to every one of the top 5 and still do that.

I would expect that 72 point total isn't too bad at all after so many draws but.... after spending a **** tonne in wages and fees they are looking at 4th which they just failed to get last year.

I must say this thread is a real eye opener for me, I have never noticed that teams score the exact same points in the second half of the season as they do in the first.
Kind of makes the second half a waste of time really :(

So Mourinho spent £149m so he could be [HASHTAG]#brave[/HASHTAG] enough to hope the teams above him have a crap second half and do his job for him <laugh>

If he gets 72 points he's the best manager since Ferguson [HASHTAG]#statue[/HASHTAG]

Quite right, if you are aiming to do something say so, any manager that starts the season thinking any other way might as well move on.

If you're aiming to win then be [HASHTAG]#brave[/HASHTAG] enough to not put 10 men behind the ball

Now he says better than 4th but has ruled out 1st, well that's only two possible positions so be [HASHTAG]#brave[/HASHTAG] enough to name one

He is probably waiting to see if City buy a defence in January before deciding on 2nd or 3rd <ok>

Oh yeah, I forgot that teams do exactly the same in the second half of the season as the first.
Damn that means you miss out again and finish 2nd, bad luck :(

What are you transiting from this season?
Getting used to new manager........nope
trying to fit 6 new players into the starting line up..........nope
change of playing style.........nope

New stand, that should do it <ok>

Good try but fail ultimately.
LvG was in transition for the first year and changed things from Moyes reign, after that he had his own style and players but failed to progress which is why he is no longer with us <ok> :emoticon-0100-smile

Not according to the Dutchman last season.

"Van Gaal has insisted expectations are too high for his "team in transition" but while the Old Trafford faithful may crave a return to their title-winning days under Ferguson, the past two seasons have barely seen progress from the calamitous 2013/14 campaign."

Pretending that after only two half seasons under Klopp we ain't in transition is <laugh>able!

<whistle>

So basically Klopp has had 8 games short of a season and half and is now entering his 3rd transfer window. When will it be his team and out of transition?

Or....he never had a summer and pre-season before taking over, he had only 8 weeks to assess his squad before the January window.
Would say he's still looking to build on what he's got, so err the end of this season will be the end of transition for us.

Unless of course you believe transition takes only a few weeks and a couple of transfer windows in which case Maureen has taken yoonited backwards despite his desperate spending.:emoticon-0105-wink:
