Doesn't really tally up with what I remember of him but I could also be wrong! I think if if was N'Zonzi you were talking about you would remember him at Stoke because he was always agitating to leave and he's not the type of player that you'd miss in a game due to his size and all action style of play.

N'Zonzi got a reputation in liking to Barton, Cattermole, etc whilst at stoke. A proper bastard in the middle that seemed to be more interested in getting booked than trying to play football. He was only young though, seems to have matured in Spain.

Not sure whether he'd maintain the high standard if he came back to the PL. The lower ranked Spanish sides aren't a patch on our lower ranked sides, plus the pace is slower too.

He'd make a good squad player for us which is why it would be a no from me; why sign a squad player when you can be a first team player and improve the squad whilst you're at it?

N'Zonzi is a really good player - wouldn't mind adding him to our midfield.

But I think we need a proper deep lying playmaker like Dahoud or Paredes.

Think the clue is in the name :)
As u have stated above they sit back - it is a whole mentality thing, once u bring in a Dm you are making a statement.
I will trust Klopp knows what he is doing over any of us lot :)
Ftr I can understand what you are saying just not sure it would work out like that :)

How much are we looking forward to this match...not as hungover from last night's shenanigans as I should be so beers in and game on.

Usually hate NYE but could be a good one this time...lol

Really not looking forward to this :( this is the game I have us getting beaten in :(
Not as optimistic as some - I think the city players returning fully fresh will have a huge impact :(

How can you not look forward to a game like this? It's why people live the beautiful game!

Just nervous, I don't look forward to being on the edge of my seat for 90 mins. If we get a beautiful game I will look back on it with joy.
But if it's a borefest or if the ref ruins it somehow it will be a massive disappointment. I prefer not to get myself excited then be pleasantly surprised.
It is like when u hear a film is awesome
You get all excited about going to watch it to find it is just ok - so I feel let down.
Whereas sometimes you get told how bad a film is - go - and it turns out to be quite good.
So I choose not to look forward in the hope to be surprised :)

I'm the opposite way. Can't wait for 'edge of your seat' type games but dread the boredom of facing a Mourinho team or similar

As much as I want to see Liverpool win and succeed, football is entertainment and I want to be entertained.

That's why I don't mind conceding the odd sloppy goal, means we are never out of the woods until the fat lady is singing.

You are thinking of right person. He was meh at Blackburn but at Stoke he was decent player and got a move fro Sevilla from his performances.

Agree lots of players do it in Spain then struggle but think he's now in his prime and knows his game a bit better now

personally i think that is a good thing <whistle>

I do expect a change in tactics or formation from City but have they the players to carry it off is the question. I would be surprised if we didn't play in the exact same way as normal irrespective of what City do.

The thing I've noticed most in the build up to this game is how much respect Klopp & Guardiola have for each other. Complete opposite to the lack of class that Mourinho shows in the build up to big games. No mind games bullshit here, just let the 11 players on the pitch play each other and may the best team win.

    It is
Wouldn't want any of our keepers or defenders currently at the club to be there in 2 years time
The very idea of playing out from the back with that shower is utter madness

I'm surprised at so many people suggesting this is an easy win for us. As I don't believe in the power of #jinx, it doesn't bother me - but I do think this is impossible to call.
It really could go any way at all, imo.

Not that it effects today's game greatly, but MC haven't beaten us in the league since August 2014. (2017 tomorrow <whistle>)
They are obviously a good side, we have to watch Aguero and stop KdB creating. Quietly confident we will get at least a point.
