Jake Snodders Harry Dawson and Davies played well, and Mbokani deserves a mention as held the ball up well.
Jake Livermore was immense. He had a tired 10 minutes in the second half as did Meyler but the work they got through was amazing. Meyler couldnt last but Jake did. Fantastic display. Harry. I was going to put Snodgrass but it was bad enough shirking and turning your back on Baines for their second but it was a ****s trick to turn round and try and blame Elmo for it. Mbokani. Worked his bollocks off. Nearly every challenge on him was a free kick. Just not given.
Maguire (and some) Snods Jake Saw Harry talking to Elmo, being the senior player. We must keep him before Snods.
Maguire - He's got everything in his locker but lacks a bit of consistency. I think he's got the ability to be a cult hero, I hope it's with us. I love it when he strides out of defence with the ball at his feet - genuinely gifted with the ball at his feet. He's going to play for a top 4 club one day - he's that good. Snodgrass - He's delightful and frustrating in equal measure. His insistence on getting to the byline and failing time and time again is for me a huge frustration. But then he puts in two delicious free kicks - one off the frame of crossbar the other straight in the top corner. Dawson - Captains performance and a genuinely brilliant volleyed goal into the corner to get us going. It's great that two of our centre halves are our most attacking threats after Snodgrass
He's not there to track back, I would rather see him putting there CD's under pressure, unfortunately until recent games he has done by himself, totally outnumbered. He does not get half the free kicks he should, the refs continue to be S***E.
Dawson scored 1 and could have had another. Maguire it's all been said. Did anyone else hear him talking to Burnsie last night, wont's to stay in the Premier League, but hopes to sort an extended contract at City. Snoddy hope we can keep hold of him.
Maguire - steady defending but looks great when he carries the ball forwards, a very good footballer. Livermore - some fabulous "ball winning" in midfield coupled with good distribution. Diomande - tough choice for third but he showed his strength on the ball and worked hard throughout. Overall, another very good display showing that City can compete at this level and suggesting that they are capable of finishing above the bottom three.
