    Seems like a nice, genuine guy. Wants to play as a striker sometimes but says his best position is on the wing, and he loves the one v ones with full backs.

    I do believe that has a part to play in Pardew's thinking here, he's versatile, can play on either wing and up front, so it's more cover on the wings and possibly a goal scorer if he adapts well up front.

    Good interview. Seems like a genuinely nice bloke, and his comment about giving 100% and scoring more than just a few goals shows that he has a bit of drive to him. He could have easily had just said "yeah I'll try".

    Says he knew at the end of last season Newcastle were interested. Why take so long to bring him in? Surely better to bring him in asap, unless I suppose there were bigger fish to fry, e.g. Gameiro etc.

    This plus he may have wanted to see what the scenario would be in pre season at Man U. You don't leave there unless you know there's no hope for you nailing down a first team spot. he'll have seen nothing changed with regard to giggs/Nani/Park/Valencia and knew it was time.

    Jesus I forgot about Young! Anyone else wonder if Giggs will be happy bunny this season? Can't see him playing much unless he or Young is used more centrallly.
