Summer one is 3 months long and drives me crazy! Used to love the windows but it's an absolute circus now and it's tedious tbh
I'm not against transfers (although, if a clubs way of staying financially viable is through transfers alone they have problems). I'm against specific windows for transfers. I think it inflated prices and unlike it's intention to level the playing field by not letting big teams buy their way out of injury crisis it has the opposite effect because the bigger the team the more they can spend on backup players and often have 2 teams of almost equally strong players. I'd rather they cap the number of players that may be transferred in one season than have transfer windows.
#bbcsalford have a massive article on the transfer window Their advice to us is buy a LB and don't sell Sturridge #footballgenius
Of course if we had no restriction on transfers, and teams were allowed to buy and sell at will, the big clubs would be seen as being able to spend out of trouble and people would complain about a lack of financial parity. But the transfer window doesn't create balance or fairness either as all it does is concentrate the clubs' total financial resources (for players) into a confined period and lead to the massive inflation you mention and also panic which drives prices and wages and agents cuts up as well. Neither are perfect. A player cap is one thing. I'd much prefer a spending cap/restriction so bigger, more lucrative clubs weren't able to attract better players through exorbitant fees, wages and add ons, therefore hopefully giving a better spread of good players across more teams since less financially mobile clubs would be able to compete.
Some experts think that if we had a more reliable LB than Moreno then he'd be playing and Milner would be in Midfield.. If Klopp wanted to play Milner in midfield he'd have bought a LB by now! Think, right now, given who we have in midfield and upfront, only way Milner plays CM is if we have an injury crisis, and even then don't think Klopp would want to make that switch, he trusts/needs what Milner can bring to the team from the LB position.
I agree. If last year there were no windows chelsea would have tried to buy 4/5 players IMO. but look now. same players with kante and luiz are top of the league. There is a case for teams which need cash to be able to sell a player and get it but in general the transfr windows makes the league better in general It would be nice if somehow all clubs were put on some cap so that if you want to pay wayne rooney 300k per week then you can only pay de gea 20k. that'd sort things out pretty quick and stop the rise of ever more citys. but china would ignore it so....
