    I don't think even the most diehard Spurs fans think they are worldbeaters as they have nothing to prove that they are. And for an adult to call another club "scummy" is extremely childish. I am not a great fan of Manchester United or Chelsea but when they play good football they have to be admired. Reading between the lines here it seems that Spurs are a class above Southampton, and that is not to demean Southampton, as they spend far more in the transfer market and have a much bigger fan base and profile, so no disgrace coming off second best to them. It seems the gap between the top 6 and the rest this year is massive. The team in 6th is likely to be at least a dozen or more points ahead of the 8th placed team (Southampton IMO) with Everton about 8 points ahead in 7th.
