Am I right in thinking that a new sponsor normally has a launch with publicity etc? This seems to suggest there will be no sponsor's name on the shirt. If I was ploughing X million £s into a club I'd want a big launch ahead of a matchday, not have my thunder stolen in the hubbub of our first PL match in 15 years. This smacks of desperation...
