The reports I've had at ITN are fairly definite that both bullets came from same Police weapon. The guy killed was apparently a nasty piece of work and complete idiot as he rang people during the situation telling them "the feds are after me", obviously watched too many movies, quite surpised he didn't shout "you'll never take me alive copper"

I highly doubt owt would happen up here, but can anyone remember Meadow Well a few years back? Those riots turned pretty serious, I'm sure it made the national news. I don't think that owt will happen tho, we're far too laid back up here and we have far less black wannabe gangstas roaming the streets than the likes of Liverpool and London (sorry to sound stereotypical, but it's sadly true)

I'm at work in Croydon now OT. Seems quiet enough now but we've been told to go by 6pm tonight just in case. Heard somewhere that Tesco in Purley got hit too. I'm glad I moved away from Croydon just under two years ago.

Everton fans have asked for the game to be called off.

There will be no cars or shops left to rob

I think the last thing we should be worrying about is a football match tbh.

I'm not sure if Gazza has access to enough fishing rods and chicken to sort this out. We are doomed.

    I have a cunning plan.

    1) Loot a fancy dress shop of Gazza masks.
    2) Whilst wearing the Gazza masks; loot a fishing shop of fishing rods.
    3) Still wearing Gazza masks and armed with fishing rods; raid KFC and loot it of all it;s chicken in buckets.

Distribute the Gazza army around the country and all will be well.

Arrrghh I feel no further forward in knowing what the hell has happened! Was the guy armed? If so I suppose whose bullets they were is irrelevant as he has brought it on himself by arming himself.

It's thought that he had a converted starting pistol to fire live ammo on him at the time but it was kept in his sock.

I think its got to the point where thats irrelevant really. Obviously a police enquiry will go ahead later but there really is no realistic connection between that and what is now rioting in Birmingham, Liverpool and Bristol. Bellends.

    That's a capital idea OT...<laugh>...no pun intended.

However that ploy has been used before to quell violent disturbances in many parts of the World. I particularly remeber Yasser Arafat requesting on his death bed that he be clothed in a Newcastle shirt, Rangers shorts and Spurs socks before he departed this life as he wanted to be buried in the Gaza strip.

Such was the esteem that our Geordie luminary was held in.
