If our list of injuries is true then i would expect the team to look something like:

    ----------Szczezney----------
    Sagna------Djourou----Squilacci----Traore
    --------------Song--------------
    ----------Ramsey----Rosicky--------
    Gervinho------Chamakh-----Arshavin

But i expect from the list of injured players we will have atleast another 2-3 of them available for this game. Hopefuly either Kosc or TV or both will be able to play to strengthen the back line, but going forward i'm confident with our back-up players.

If the team is as above i predict a final score of 3-2 to Arsenal (with that back line you will definately put a couple in the back of the net). If the team has atleast one of our first choice CB's back in the line-up and RVP then i'd go for 3-1 or 4-1 to Arsenal.

We always have a strong start to the season and think we will come out pumped up for the new season. There is also the possibility we will have another new face or two by the time we play so it's pretty hard to predict the team.

    How arrogant of you

Great input there. I'll sit and wait for some more sensible Arsenal fans to give us their input

I think we will see 4-4-2:

    Krul
    Simpson Taylor Coloccini Enrique/Pieters
    Barton Cabaye Tiote Jonas
    Ba Ameobi

Right on cue, a sensible one has posted. And that line-up looks weak, but you can never underestimate any Arsenal side!

So is Fabregas still injured or is Wenger just resigned to him leaving and not putting him in the starting lineup? I saw he was in the open training day..

Do people seriously believe Marveaux is going to start? Let alone start with Ba up front on his own.

It's more than likely gonna be a basic 4-4-2.

Tiote and Cabaye may not even be definate starters, with Tiote only just coming back into the country and both of them playing internationals tomorrow night.

I really cant see Best, Ameobi AND Lovenkrands all being left out as well. You'll at least see one of them up front.

    I can see it being:

    Krul

    Simpson
    Taylor
    Coloccini
    Enrique

    -
    -
    -
    Gutierrez

    Best
    Ameobi

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Barton in the centre instead of Cabaye (if he plays the full game for France) or Tiote if he's not deemed match fit for being away from the team for a while. If he plays wide on the right again (where I think Gutierrez SHOULD be, since he ALWAYS looks better on the right… instead of Marveaux or Obertan, than I think Cabaye/Tiote have to start together in the centre.

Ba will no doubt make an appearance. Marveaux and possibly even Obertan have a posibility too. Best to get used to things before the unwashed game.

Fingers crossed Shola and Lovenkrands don’t start though.

Good grief, that's a crappier lineup than last years and its just the beginning of the season!!! We are suppose to get better not field a worse side. If we do field that then i expect a draw at best.

Cant remember where I saw it but that's the reason we want to get Pieters in by the weekend, even if Enrique's still here.

    I can see

    --------------------Krul------------------------

    Simpson------Colo-------Taylor------------Jose

    Barton-------Tiote-------Cabaye-----------Jonas

    -------------Obertan/Marveaux---------------

    -------------------Ba------------------------

I think, if Arsenal have as many injuries as they're claiming to have (which I highly doubt given Monsieur Wenger's past discrepancies) then we could actually sneak this IF (and it's a big if) the team morale is fine and Barton is pulling in the right direction. I reckon 1-0 Toon

Wasnt very long ago though was it, and you took 1 point from 6. If the team has as many injuries as is suggested I wouldnt be so cocky either.

Would still be happy with a draw now though.

It has to be said i'd be very shocked if our injury list is actualy as long as it is being made out to be and i'd expect atleast a couple of our "injured" players to eb playing.

I think with Fabregas he has had no pre-season and will not be ready to play injured or not, so unlikely to see him in this game. I don't think we are resigned to Fabregas leaving yet though.

that's a bit of a shock tbh, i thought he'd be given time to gel with his new teammates before being given any game time. Dont think this is a good move for a player who's 'mentally fragile'

Bringing him on after an hour to a massive applause and making his debut against Arsenal would be good for his confidence though, surely.

My only big worry is that Cabaye and Tiote have barely had any time to play together. That midfield pairing is going to be absolutely key to our success, so I hope they gel together quick.

Fook it though I'm gonna be optimistic. 2-1 to us. If there was ever a time we could beat Arsenal with the team we have and the injuries they have, it's now.

Have to agree with you Newcastle fans it'll be a real interesting game with our list of injuries!

I'm still confident Arsenal can grab the 3 points though - our start of season is always impressive.

surely he'd be more confident if that happened 2 games down the line when he knew how his teammates play

(alternatively, he could be thinking 'hope i dont screw up')

Just saying "even with all these injuries we'll walk you off the park" screams arrogance to me, sorry. You probably said that last year before the 1-0 and the 4-4. This is football, you can't predict anything really. I'm not saying you're not going to beat us, in all honesty I think we will lose. But just putting it like that, no team information or anything, is quite arrogant to be honest.
