On the first day of Christmas I just missed a Ramblers walk around the outskirts and hills of Winchester. But I will end up in the Black Boy pub for the annual Ramblers quiz. Then this evening to the family where Mum will almost certainly be enjoying her final Xmas. For her I hope it is a good one, without any fear.

Merry Xmas, fellow saddoes. Just opened pressies (first edition), then off to son's where I will sit and watch the dinner unfold. Nice change....then pressies (second edition). I'm usually on the buck's fizz by now, but will have to wait till I get there, so I will raise a tea cup to you all. <bubbly>

Fellow saddoes made me laugh <laugh>

I'm still in bed woke up hungover about an hour ago <yikes>

Got a late invite for dinnet so shower soon and off I go :)

Merry Christmas everyone <cheers>

Certainly were. Mum will be 103 if she makes it to the 10th of March. It's amazing how strong she is in her system, but her mind is almost gone on some days. It's a really good day if she remembers my name. But that matters little. What really matters is that can experience laughter, love and happiness, which are the most important things above existence. Earlier this month I had decided to take up my standing invite to my alternative favourite place in the world, for Christmas - Cornwall. And perhaps pop across to Pembrokeshire to see other friends for the New Year. But not now. I think Mum'll see 2017, and then we'll take it from there. Cheers pepys.

1. I love Cornwall - my favourite (not alternative) place in the world

2. Your mum amazes me. 103. Fabulous <applause><applause><applause>

Trying to hold a sensible conversation atm with my parents 87 and 91. They drive me nuts but love them to bits. Mere youngsters compared to TSS's mum though.
