A decent year for you or not?

Been ok for me, mustn't grumble. Hope 2017 is as good, but a bit better financially.

Lots of celebs have passed away. Forgot Johan Cruyft was one of them.

Can't complain, financially it's been decent, could have done with another holiday but other things got in the way, and there was probably no holidays left after Vince had finished anyhow.

Liked that we voted to leave the EU, that's the big one from 2016, understandably it'll affect some people negatively at times but I think the country has taken a huge stride forwards and for the first time in years, I'm not going into the New Year thinking I need to get away from here asap.

The financial side has been ****ed up by the government.
Don't want to go into a long rant.
63 year old wife can't work through medical problems.
Now no income or pension until 65 1/2
Changed the goal posts when she was 61

Some major highs and some very crazy lows to be honest. Financially amazing however the lows required the finances haha.

That being said, the end of the year has been pretty good and it's building up to an amazing 2017. Just a shame I turn 30!

Poor year for me, mentally that is. Been away with the fairies from time to time.
Still hanging on and waiting to be made redundant.
Roll on the New year and see what it brings :emoticon-0100-smile

As an eternal optimist, I can;t say anything bad has happened to me this year so been a very good year. More financially stable than I've ever been and (still) got a super hot wife (which I keep going on about but I do think she's awesome) and 2 great kids. Got my 6 year old daughter to her first match too and she wants to go to more - all coming together in the "black" household.

    Looking forward to 2017

Big year for me by anyone's standards. Moved to the other side of the world and got married. Good or bad, I've enjoyed it but I reckon @marcusblackcat has the market cornered on hindsight so I'll let him fill me in a couple of years. <laugh>

    Ah 2016 so uneventful:

    Girlfriend gets pregnant
    Girlfriend has miscarriage
    Her Grandfather dies
I collapse during marathon training with virus on heart.
Haven't done any cardio in now 9 months :-(
Still waiting for specialists at Hospital appointment (well second hospital after MRI and Ct scan at another hospital)
    Got engaged
    Girlfriend pregnant again
Job changed at work after 10 years to new crazy role nobody understands
    Got married
    Got fatter
All that's left is Christmas Day and then our wedding party evening on the 28th.
As far as years go 2016 has been mental
Oh yes and Sunderland AFC haven't done me any real favours this year either!!!

Merry Christmas everyone and hope you all have a great 2017

My other half got all clear after her cancer scare.
I've got all clear after heart attack.
Eldest daughter settled down with really nice lad (thank fook) she's 43 now.
Two fantastic grandkids thanks to youngest daughter.
Managed to swerve the horrors of storm Desmond.
Sam kept us up, waiting for Davy to follow suit.
    Everything else is immaterial.
    Happy Christmas everyone.

On the downside I feel like there's been a serious lack of nights filled by nose powder over here and that makes me miss it.

Bad bad year for me as well..

Gone back 20 paces with my better half, the year has been a nightmare for her health, totally bed bound 24/7 now, finances drying up after 7 years of looking after her, lost my mother 4 weeks ago to Dementia, thinking of my sons problems at the minute and hope all will be ok. Basically it has just all been so ****ing frustrating in every way top to bottom and to cop it all David Bowie died, yeah I really admired that guy..

Plus sides were, we didn't get relegated, Ellis is ****ing off hopefully and I finally got to meet a true mate after 8 years or so..

Merry Christmas all, we all have agenda and problems and we all sometimes bring it onto here but we all come back so for me, forgive and forget, at least you get to laugh at the person on here who laughed at you the week before.. ;)

All the best lads, stay cool and be happy..<ok>

Told the boss to stuff his job where the sun doesn't shine early on this year. Loved my job but the new boss was a chancer and I told them that.Normally hate seeing people losing their jobs but for this w*nker I will make an exception. He got sacked 8 months later when they realised I was right. Haha. A bigger haha was they asked me back. Took great delight in telling them to f*ck right off.
Planned having summer off but got offered a job after 3 weeks.
Two month later got offered a job on a lot more money, loads of hols (35), a car allowance, a credit card for entertaining and a hotel card to get discounts.

    Started bad ending fab.

A Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year to all my fellow posters on here.
PS, even in this festive period, except one or two of course.

Quite a mixed bag on here, in terms of the highs and lows. Which is what you'd expect, I s'ppose. But all the best of luck to those of you who have had a particularly **** year - i hope things get better for you in 2017 and beyond.

Work has been tough this year, plenty of unnecessary grief from the top, given their shareholder priorities. Cuts coming in 2017, just need to crack on with it. ****ers.

Sadly, one of my best mates died very recently. Sunderland through and through, a top lad and a massive loss, but even sadder demise. His demons got the better of him, and the ravages of alcohol led to a very rapid 3-yr decline. Just gutting and awful for his family, especially.

On a more positive note, Junior is turning into a proper little boy, with a cracking left foot and sense of humour on him - which is all good.

Moved house twice this year - which was stressful as **** - but we're very happy with the new gaff, and just in time for Chrimbo.

Life often sucks, just grab and hold those good moments when they come along. They do... even Sunderland fans know that! All the besr
