In the first twenty four hours after the event I followed the news on BBC and CNN and the two networks were miles apart in their presentations. The CNN had "experts" who trotted all sorts of scenarios leading with the obvious terrorist one followed by maybe a Polish dissident, then maybe Russia attempting to disrupt German elections or foster ill-will within EU. Meanwhile the German police were calmly going about their business and the BBC stuck to the facts as close as they could. Now that the information is known the CNN have moved on to the blame game about how this guy could have operated as he has for the past seven years in Italy and Germany. I know that they are twenty four news channels but speculation on the scale shown by CNN only feeds the US folks with too much to worry about and the "reds under the bed" syndrome still exists.
I only ever read RT for proper news.. Apparently according to our idle journalists for the rags, it's going to be warmer in York over Christmas than Rome ffs.. Yeah ok then cool..

Apparently its easier for terrorists to move accross borders in Europe than it is for us to take 100mlts of liquid on an aeroplane. Madness I tell you utter madness.
Once you get into mainland Europe, you can just jump on a train and go across borders, without any checks. We are lucky to live on an island.
