It can't have been that, surely, as it has neither racist language nor language relating to nationality in it.
Just repeating what I was told. It's not racist in the slightest. Unless they are arguing that by saying 'speak English', Shelvey is referring to the Wolves player as being inferior to someone who speaks English. If that is the case it's very tenuous.
I'm not sure that quite right. He will play in the Sheff Wed game whether he appeals or not as the FA won't impose the ban until after 7 days from the decision as that's how he has to make a decision. If he does appeal then I don' think there is any timescale being talked about for the hearing so any ban (should he lose the appeal) could be anytime but I would have thought it would be well into January given the holiday period is upon us which means we'd have him available for the next several games.
Lad's a ****ing div of the highest order mind, Fergie had him, how do you lot like to say it... Beeling? When he was at Liverpool. Having said that, if he's said "Speak English..." and that's been taken as racist then we might as well call it a day now and all head off to prison for the rest of our lives. Baggsy top bunk.
Welcome to the UK. Hope youre feeling culturally enriched on this fine day. I'm sure our germans friends are feeling plenty culturally infused right about now.
All depends what was said. I've never understood why this is not just reported? If he has said something, it has already happened. Instead we get all this conjecture and make believe about what might or might not have been said. Its a load of bollocks. If he has called told him to speak English I doubt very much we would be looking at bans etc. If that was the case then I give up on this country.
What is racist about telling someone to speak English? In our country ffs. They should be made to learn the ****ing language.
We should use the money from the fine to find more racists and fine them! eventually we could rival fifa
Simple fact in our PC UK is that a comment like this is considered to be racist, crazy if so but that's the way of it, I for one would like to know exactly what was said.
went to a primary school today and was greeted with a sign that said 'Welcome' then it was followed by all different languages saying Welcome are the schools all rascists to 'assume' that parents can't read or speak English so much so that they have to put it in different languages
The PC Brigade need to be savagely murdered. These do-gooders, lefties, whatever you want to call them are pissing me off. So Shelvey told someone to learn English. So they ****ing should. I wouldn't dream of moving to somewhere like China and refuse to learn Mandorin/ Cantonese etc. At least there they'd tell you to your face and not worry about some PC compliant cockwomble being offended.
We don't know that was said though, do we ? It sounds like a version of the non-existent EU straight banana directive
If he has said what Windy Mag is claiming then I can see an argument to say he deserves a ban. Let's put it this way if you saw a guy in a wheelchair would you go up and tell him to walk, now to be that is very insulting.
I don't think that's a fair comparison. Apart from not actually knowing what was said, everyone's giving it "this country" this, and "PC brigade" that. This is the FA, not the government, and it wouldn't be the first time they arrive at a bizarre decision. He could just as easily have called him a "black c**t"; we just dont know, although considering they took a day and half to have the hearing you'd have to imagine it wasn't cut and dry and what he said was on the margins. If Shelvey did say what has been reported here then it would also be good to know why he said it. Presumably because the player said something in his native tongue to Shelvey. Which I'm sure was complimentary of course.
I agree it's not racist but sadly the worlds gone mad People putting in these claims are a disgrace to the people that actually suffered at the hands of racism.
Craig Hope claiming that he called Saiss a "smelly arab." Chronicle claiming reasons haven't been released.
Firstly there's an issue with someone being in a wheel chair Secondly if he was ranting at Shelvey in a language he doesn't understand I'd say the same thing Foreigners are always being offensive in their own language If you're fat and someone calls tells you to get some excersize it's more offensive the only difference is they've never hung people for being fat! I'm tired of the racism card being played I'm sure he didn't lose any sleep over it because he was hardly being stringed up to a tree and set on fire Another perefectly accepted term such as People like you is used Everyday between whites in arguments but if you say it to a foreign person you're adolf hitler!!! It's pathetic Bald, deaf dumb and basically poor people get discriminated against more these days so they can stop with the bullshit and crack on
That's an unpleasant comment but in my opinion isn't racist Racist is thinking you're better than someone based on the colour of their skin. Smelly Arab is simply an insult Not a clever one but again this is a none event in the great scales racism once reached If someone calls me something unpleasant I just get on with it I'm not going to make a big deal out of nothing The guys probably crying into his cereal still over such a horrific event ?!!!
