The more football-savvy fans might not have got in this position in the first place because they know more about the game than Fernandes!
Point still stands...

Rowett didn't want to come. They approached him before Ollie.Totally agree with this - TF needs to get Rowett in now!

3 at the back - wing backs - fewer aimless long balls - more possession, more players playing in their positions.
It's all opinion, but I do think the inability to play a settled team week in week out is killing us.
Point taken Seagull but I fear Holloway's pay off would pale into insignificance compared to the loss of revenue due to playing L1 football.....He will be on a (comparatively) low package as third/fourth choice at the time when we were trying to replace JFH (remember he was not managing a club). As for Rowett not wanting to come when we sacked JFH, wasn't that down to Birmingham saying the compensation package would be massive if we tried to tempt him away? Anybody can see what a great job he did at Birmingham with a crazy owner selling all of his best players/no money/arguably a lesser squad than us - he is only out of work due to the madness of their owners. Don't get me wrong - I really do like Ollie as a bloke & I will carry supporting the club that I have supported since 1979 (I'm going to Brighton on the 27th & the Ipswich game on the 2nd) but I genuinely believe that if we stick with Holloway we will (as I have said in a previous post) be supporting our team at MK/Gillingham/Wimbledon/Charlton etc next season. Like some of the other posters on here I think we have some decent players - just poor coaching/systems/formations/tactics etc.I wonder how keen fans would be to change the manager if it was their own cash they were spending...

Loftus Rd was like a morgue today. Atmosphere awful. Not one of our players broke a sweat today. None collapsed on the ground at the final whistle with exhaustion.None looked distraught. Almost all laughed and talked with the villa players. Our players simply are not working hard enough. No passion, no energy and no desire. Sound familiar.
Several of the supporters around me saying they've had enough. My uncle said that was the final straw, "we're too boring".
We wouldn't score in the preverbial brothel. No confidence, too slow, no pace, no creativity.
IMO we're going down. A team that can't score is in big trouble.
This is a diabolical and total f**k up.
What a complete and utter mess our club has become. I know there have been bad years - but considering the resources of the owners this has to be the worst ever mess this club has been in - we are facing L1 square in the face.
I tell you what's damning - Mackie looked like our best player when he came on.Damning. Something rotten in the state of Denmark.
I think the gloom and doom on here is overdone. Certainly we are underperforming, mainly in creating goal-scoring opportunities, but today's performance was not so bad. As happened on Wednesday, we lost to a bad goal defensively after being worth at least a draw. We have a reasonable squad of players in my opinion, it remains to be seen if Holloway can get them playing to their potential.
Were we worth a draw? We created nothing while they missed a penalty and forced several good saves.
All teams have a bit of luck or bad luck along te way..but look at league table it dont lie..I don't think Villa deserved the win, and neither did Derby. In both games we matched the opposition, but couldn't create goal-scoring opportunities. And in both games we lost due to late defensive lapses.
