He's showing serious signs of being another clueless manager. Chopping and changing players, formation you name it. Similar to our other useless managers in the past 5-6 years. I like LJ a lot but I hope he knows he's under pressure, we know what happens at this club when everything gets too comfortable. Instead of St James park we'll be off to the minimal if we're not careful.
I see for some and it didn't take long, but the panic button has already been pressed!! Nothing changes!!
8 losses out of 12, we're near half way through the season and he still doesn't know his best players. When are we allowed to start panicking?? We've got extremely difficult away games coming up and a home game against a top 3 side who have beaten us 6 times on a trot. If we lose all 3 which is very possible may we start "panicking" then?
I knew it was never going to be easy after having a difficult season last year and imagine most thought we were hitting the big time at the beginning of this season, I think he tried what he thought was his best team but it's not worked out. I still believe we are not a million miles away and could be looking for the odd couple of players to come in Jan that will make the team click. I'm not panicking as yet, confidence seems down but a couple of good results could change everything..
Knives are definitely beginning to sharpen. LJ has taken responsibility. If ever there was a time for positive action from him,it is now
I think the positive action needs to be handled by someone else because here we go again sounds very familiar.
This contract extension protects US not LJ. If we suddenly start winning, he can't leave. If he continues our losing streak he will go. End of.
Certainly do not see any points in the next three games, that being wolves Ipswich away and Reading home. That could just see us go into the bottom three.
Be careful of what you wish for RR, You wanted Warnock, Pearson and was happy with SOD.......not inspiring is it?
Managerial choices are often contentious and you live with the consequences of your choice. Afterthoughts are all well and good and second guessing is irrelevant when you consider we were not asked for our opinion. It is what it is, but right now I think we are in serious bout of second guessing some of the past decisions.
'looking for the odd couple of players to come in Jan' Of course, let's add to the TWELVE who came in during the summer. Question One : How many of the 'new intake' will sit on the bench ? Question Two : Unlike the costly summer recruits, will the new signings be good enough to replace : Pack, Reid, Freeman and Bryan, all here from our L1 days ? And finally : Question Three : How many £2.5million Strikers have ever sat on a City bench ?
RP you naughty boy, any other manager and you wouldn't be asking these questions!! Still no thrashing unlike most seasons we've had in years gone by... If he turns it around, you won't praise him, but do your usual, "How much he's spent" how "all other managers could have done the same with the budget he's had". We know you hate him RP whatever happens.......I hope he turns this around and takes us to the premier in the next few seasons!!
The signing of Engvall reminds me of Tony Thorpe to be honest. Think we signed him for £1m in 1998 (probably more than £2.5m in today's football money), and he barely played. It was a few years before he became quite a decent striker for us.
