First off i know the Southampton game was a bad result, and a bad performance. But lets not get on Simon's back straight away. We started off badly last season as well, remember 2-1 against Derby? what about 6-4 against Preston...the team that ended up getting relegated. If results are still shocking by Christmas then I will understand the Grayson out brigade. But at the moment all Grayson has done is managed to improve our standing year after year. Surely he deserves to be forigven for one bad perfomance? MOT!
Thank you, the doom and gloom on these boards would make you think were bottom of the table 20 points from safety...or worse Sheffield Wednesday
Grayson right man for the job at the moment although I do fear (as someone else pointed out) if he did have money to spend would he waste it as some of his signings and tactics have been shocking. Bates out however although realistically out where and who would pop their hand in their pockets to purchase us.
and even if someone did put some money forward, would they be able to run a club. Apparently, although this is from bates' mouth, he said that leeds was literally a day from being lost forever when he took over I dont think bates' has done a bad job. Its not enough to hate a chairman because he doesnt spend as much as you like. He is doing a good job at leeds and keeping us sound at the moment. All this anti-bates crap is bullshit and i'll tell you this now. I am a grayson fan, i think thats apparent but i would prefer to see grayson go than bates at this point in time. Managers are far easier to replace with someone good than chairman are
Bates is an awful chairman, he lives in the past with ancient business views. Not for a split second do I believe Leeds were a day from being no more. Bates took us over, he never paid the debts, he declared bankruptcy and hid behind a pretence off shore company to purchase us back at 1p in the pound. Even at an 80 million debt that is £800,000. not even the sale money of Kasper. You must also remember that IF Leeds RETURN to the Premiership within the 5 years of this starting then there is an extra payment to be made to the creditors.
Josh are you kidding? Bates has tried to run a football club by skating through with **** all to spend. One could forgive a guy if we were still playing league 1 football. But if a chairman's expectation is to play premiership football then he needs to stop being a tight arse and get his wallet out! If not come out and put the club up for sale! Look at Cardiff yesterday, spent around about 2 million this season, don't have half the fan base we have and yet they can go out and get Rob Earnshaw, Kenny Miller, Gunnarson, Cowie and still have money available. If your gonna upset players about there wages, then show them the video of saturday, that would be enough for me to say thats why we need to bring better!
I look at some other teams and they appear to have a consistent plan and approach. I look at Leeds and all I see is a patched together squad with the leftovers from here and there, stuck on. Grayson hasn't addressed the defence this summer and for that should get the sack right now. How can you leak 70 goals in a season and not clear out the lot of them. Kisnobro is a good quality player, but how long before he breaks down again? It seems that Grayson is pinning his entire hopes on him holding the defence together. What's depressing is that this isn't one game, it's the same cobbled together approach as last season, but now minus the people who will score as they're injured. Until they return, it's going to be a struggle.
To be honest with Bechio playing and Somma on the bench we still wouldn't have done much on Saturday, chances were few, quality poor from front back to front.
I dont want big lumps of cash wasted on high earners who are overrated. id prefer young talent to be given the chance to shine.
If there's one thing that's obvious about Bates, it's that he is at the very least a little obsessive. He'll have got it in his head that "if Blackpool can do it, so can we". Even though on the same policy, we can afford to spend about 4 times as much as they did when they went up, due to revenue. Probably more than 4 times as much. I don't believe for a second that it would have been unfeasible to give Grayson a £5 mill transfer kitty and a wage cap of £20k a week. Well, it might have been unfeasible actually, since Bates spent £7 mill on that waste of time that's not going to cover it's cost for about a million years. I wouldn't be surprised if the museum was making a loss from the moment it opens till the moment it gets shut down. The only sensible part of the East Stand redevelopment was the addition of more boxes. I'd imagine the demand for boxes was higher than the supply, so removing a few seats that aren't getting filled and replacing them with boxes is good business sense. In the short term. Unless of course what I heard is correct, and they are to replace the boxes in the south stand, which will be traded for more seats.
How? You look at our squad, does it seem like it's a group of players put together? I think the signing of O'Dea shows that it's not.
in think you guys have never liked bates 'the southern chelsea bastard' and are just putting cases forward for him to leave without seeing the bigger picture. You only see his negative points rather than his positives. Elland Road needed a redevelopment, may not have been the best time to do it but it did need it. The idea was that we were going to do some work on it as well as the council and what not for the world cup in england but seeings we didnt win the world cup the council pulled out but we still went ahead with it. Money may seem quite tight at the moment for no apparent reason and i get frustrated with that as well but would you prefer to spend money on players that are already heard of? I wouldnt especially spending money on players like danny graham and Mackail-Smith. There are very few players that have been bought for money in the transfer market that were a realistic target that i was disappointed leeds didnt sign. Jack Cork maybe but i dont think he woulda been worth it, i dont think he is better than Howson or Clayton, And Brown adds the experience that we need (regardless of how he played on the weekend, give him time) Just think about what you guys are saying seriously, are we really a selling club under bates? We got our fair share of money from delph, and schmeichal we replaced with someone just as good for less money which makes good business sense as well. The last thing the team needs right now is a bloody protest against bates and everyone stop buying things from the shop, we need to support our team. I have always said we have the best fans in the world, stay with the team through thick and thin, this isnt even the worse we have been in recent years and now you guys decide that you've had enough? How did Portsmouth do when they had an owners problem? How did Liverpool do when they had an owners problem? How did LEEDS do when they had an owners problem?
One bad performance !!!! are you having a laugh ????? You mentioned two bad performances yourself, and that was only two of oh so many to choose from !!!! And did thing wever get any better last season.... poor start, a bit of a rally and then a disasterous run in..... how much are we supposed to forgive again? We have started just how we left off, lets calm down and not let misguided loyalty cloud judgement when the right thing has to happen, grayson must be replaced with someone who amongst other things can organise a defence and spend what little money is available to strenghen, not weaken the team.
yea but it is a new season, new players (although not many) just give it at a very minimum 10 games to assess
ha! you don't think things got any better last season? we were 3 points away from a play off place in our first season back. most fans usually accept surviving relegation in their first season. i think a lot of fans are misguided by the fact that Norwich got double promotion, and they think we should have. But Norwich just have an exceptional manager and a little bit of luck (not saying they didn't deserve promotion). You focus on our apalling defence, but what about the positives? why do a lot of people critisice him for our apalling defence, but never compliment our excellent attacking football?
Yes, well reasoned, you've certainly refuted that argument. You just sit with your head up Grayson's arse and pray it's all bad dream then.
