    Bloke walks into a Pub and sees Vincent Van Gough having a pint at the bar, so he sits down next to him and calls the barman over. "Pint of Best please", he turns to Van Gough and says "Fancy a pint mate ?" and Van Gough replies "No thanks mate, I've got one 'ere"

    Find any good stations on that Radio Garden ?

    Hit me up if you discover any bangers, I've been scanning around Algeria, Egypt and Palestine as well as Morocco. I love a bit of Gnawa and Arabic music <ok>

    Nice one fella. Yeah old and new Arabic. I've spent a fair bit of time in a Berber fishing village down near Agadir (on surf trips) Every evening down there the local crew are on it playing Gnawa music to a really high standard. I play bass, and there's an Arabic/Berber equivalent called a Sintir which I don't claim to have mastered at all, but I loved playing it with the lads down there.

    Music = Universal language <ok>

    Also love a bit of Dabke, traditional wedding dance music. I think it's roots come from Syria, Jordan and Iraq but I can't find any radio stations on there. I think Radio Garden is free streaming radio, not sure what the scene is regarding that in Syria at the moment, but I guess not surprising that there's not much broadcasting ...

    I was in Morocco earlier this year. Spent a night on an excursion in the desert. Berbers/arabs playing all sorts around a camp fire in the middle of the night. It was hypnotic. Could've listened to them all night.

    Hypnotic is a good term for it. Google Gnawa music if you want to find some more.

    There's a big festival in Essaouria each year, the last time I was there was in 2009. It's basically a Traditional music festival for all kinds of African music with a big emphasis on Gnawa and Moroccan music.

    Where abouts in Morocco were you fella ?

    I was there for about 10 days. Started in Marrakech for a couple of days, then did a 3 day out to Ouarzazate and out to the desert with the Berbers. After returning, hired a car and drove down to the mountains, staying in a village called Imlil at the base of Mount Toubkal which was amazing. Cheap as chips (the whole trip) and this was basically the view from our veranda....

    Stayed at a place called Chez Les Berberez and I'm only posting that because I cannot recommend the place highly enough. Family run place and the guy who owned it would cook us a tagine every evening meal we were there, at no extra charge. All home cooking. <ok>
