Another defeat - but we nearly snatched the draw there with Van Aarnholt

Positives, goal difference did not take a hammering, most of the clubs around us lost by quite a few goals. Need to beat Watford, really need the 3 points and not to be bottom at Xmas

Not too gutted about this one. At least we can defend, as long as we're not playing Swansea that is. All the other results went our way.

    Every game it seems:

That boy is an utter legend. There were Sunderland fans talking about him for a couple of seasons before he really broke into the team and he's living up to the hype, if not for him I think you'd be a handful of points worse off and really staring down the barrel. He's keeping you in touch so far this season, in games and the league - I don't care what anyone offers, you can't afford to lose him even for £20-£30m.

No way he was motm. Not saying he didn't play well, he did, but he had a pretty easy evening and had very little to do other than stop shots straight at him. No "worldies" to save. Most of Chelsea's shots on target were straight at him and weak.

Courtois on the other hand won them the game!

Thought O'Shea was awesome. Costa still trying to escape from his pocket

But can we afford to keep him?

You are talking like he is solely responsible for having the points we have. Defoes goals have done more for us, imo. Pickford has helped keep the scores down against us, but I can't think of many points we have gained because of just his performances. At the moment there's not a great deal between Pickford and Mannone, I'd be happy to sell Pickford for 30m+
