Mostly, cos it was ****e football maybe I couldnt hear the crowd because of my constant shouting at the TV about how ****e it was and stop playing hoofball and move at pace for fecks sake. It was all so pedestrian. Don't get me wrong I'm glad we won, and hope its the catalyst for some improved displays- think being at Barnsley has worn me down
Still shouting at the end, well worth a sore throat. Haven't seen or heard the ground that lively since Simeone Jacksons 96th minute goal against Derby! ALL city fans MUST have been happy with that performance.
Well Hotrc, I sit in the N&P lower and I was surprised by how much noise there was around me for the last 20 minutes or so, especially once we'd scored and it looked as though Villa couldn't get a reply. I can assure you it was no auditory hallucination!!!
Ok, so for 20 minutes there was some noise- what a cauldron carrow road is- the players must have been really spurred on for the first 70 minutes with the crowd behind them.
Well that';s why at the end of the first half Darren Eadie said thats 45 minutes i'll never get back and for the majority of the second half it was still pretty poor with a few glimmers of quality and villa were absolutely ****e
Yeah, that is so weird. Can't say I have ever seen that before. Thought I was having a bit of a turn at the start. Deffo - starting to look the part and scoring regularly, can't ask for much more
Changing the subject slightly, I wonder if we have now found the goal-scoring striker we have been looking for in Oliveira. Three top-class goals in 3 games and potential for developing further through the rest of the season.
Agreed, he is looking a decent player, normally a good first touch and can beat players and bring others in the to the game. For me, he seems streets ahead of jerome,. who normally has pretty heavy touch
The highlights video on page 5 of this thread is downright weird. It's got Oliveira scoring his goal with a right foot shot whereas on Sky last night it was with his left foot!!! Plus the player names on the back of the shorts are back to front.
JM will confirm that BASIL has been doing that in the U23 games. I love players who aren't afraid to have a shot on goal, something we've been missing!
Oliveira also scored against Leeds in the cup, so now has 4 goals in 9 starts. Last year he scored 9 goals in 24 starts for a struggling Forest team. Given that he's only 25, he should be coming into his prime years now. Fingers crossed that he keeps it going. Here's the BBC take on him. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/38314557
What was evident last night was that he quite often would receive the ball and knock it past the defender who was marking him and he'd be away - we just need the rest of the team to get used to playing with him and be able to receive the ball from him. When both Basil and Morris were playing together for the under 21s/under 23s, they formed quite a formidable strike force.
