Looking at the players they had on the pitch compared to us I thought we did really well - Zaha probably won't play as well as that again for a while. If you can't take heart out of that performance fair enough, but for me it showed we can pass the ball effectively under pressure, push the tempo of the game (even for short spells) and create chances - three key elements we've sadly been lacking for most of the season.
Totally. What the players and management staff are doing right now is nothing short of heroic. Yet there are still occasional self-regarding snipey ****s on here. Shameful.
Huddlestone - playing in the middle of the park not in front of the defence is where he needs to be. Controlled the game. Some absolutely brilliant probing passes which we never usually try. Maguire - love a defender who is willing to drive forward Livermore - I would probably have dropped him for the game but he returned to the player he can be. Would have gone for Snodgrass 2nd or 3rd but I despise cheating.
1. Hudds - Great passing game 2. Livermore - Looked much better than of late and scored a belter 3. Diomande - Worked tirelessly and great goal.
1 - Huddlestone....great to see those incisive through balls. back to his imperious best!! 2 - Diomande...brilliant control and turn in the box for his goal. always working hard. 3 - Robertson...showed what a threat he can be at WB. speed, determination, some great crosses. Great attacking team performance at last...special mention Snodders, Dawson, Livermore.
