Spurlock, if we are insecure, why do Muslims cut the clitoris off, if that's not insecurity then please tell me what it is ?. All I am saying is that we in the west should never have interfered with these people, they have been living this way for thousands of years, some in truly barbaric ways but that's the way it of the world. Sounds about right. The right leaning "liberal" party formed a coalition with a handful of independents to form a government this year. Their far right, like ours and much of Europe's, are gaining momentum though. Led by a horrid racist **** called Pauline Hanson. She's basically that BNP **** in a trouser suit.
That's nowt to do with Islam. It's a regional thing. Islam in general don't do it and it shouldn't be labelled an Islamic thing. That's like saying every christian fiddles with alter boys.
See there's a few trying to have a reasoned debate and then you come out with that utter ****. People generalising is quite possibly the biggest obstacle in the way of integrated society in our country. Why do Brits all shag sheep?

Cringed like **** when I read it. I don't know who's to blame for people thinking **** like that. I presume it's the press but I think people should show some initiative and actually look into this sort of topical matter.
There are a number of fallacies being put forward here. Firstly Islam in Indonesia is generally moderate with women certainly not 2nd class citizens. I work with plenty of women in high positions in business here and we have had a female President, something the USA hasnt yet managed. Secondly the majority of the refugees that Australia is holding with PNG on Manaus Island are from Bangladesh, Myanmar and Afghanistan - Indonesian involvement in the people smuggling happens but they are out to make some money rather than emigrate. I agree with Raw White that there are problems with integration but this comes down to the communities themselves. It needs all elements to come together to improve the issue. We are a multiethnic society now and all sides need to work on integration. Have seen first hand some excellent work by mosques in Manchester to help integration hosting trips from local schools to explain Islam. Just on my way back from Mecca now and was overwhelmed by the number of nationalities there and the amazing sense of peace and friendliness that exudes the place. Managed to get this photo of the Mrs that I posted on the Newcastle Santa thread. While it may undermine my argument a bit it sort of serves to illustrate that its just a dress code for Saudi etc and anyone who called her a 2nd class citizen would get a right mouthful.
