Well he at least would have dived the right way instead of committing himself and not even asking a question of the penalty taker
Honestly baffles me that anyone can defend him or think hes our number 1 on ability. I CBA totting up the number of goals we've conceded with him in goal, but I'd wager he's heading for an all time club record.
£5m certainly seems a lot when you consider his stats whilst playing for us. Is the £5m figure the only genuine reason that Jak isn't one of the first names on the team sheet? What other genuine reasons could there be?
I think Marshall is dog ****. Did Cardiff send a fake version? He's not the goalkeeper I was expecting for £5m. He's slow, ponderous, flat footed, his kicking yesterday was dreadful. His penalty save 'attempt' and his flat footed response to the Campbell header was poor. Not sure he could have done anything with the Zaha strike, which was to be fair an absolute screamer. Between Mason, Marshall and Henriksen we've spunked what £22m on players (£13m Mason, £5m Marshall, £4m Henriksen?) that have actually weakened our side. I'd rather have had a dig around some of those Championship gems and we'd probably have got players that improved the first team and we'd have got more of them.
I still haven't seen anything to suggest Henriksen is doing anything wrong, he just hasn't done anything amazingly exceptional. Just been average really. If we played him in behind the striker, where he's supposed to play, we might see more from him.
I actually quite like Henriksen. He's always passing and moving but our players generally turn round and pass backwards rather than give it back to him. He would probably have done well with the way we played on Saturday.
Didn't he always say that one day things would be revealed about PT that would change everbodys opinion of him.
No he wouldn't. Jak explained that he's saved penalties because he was confident which way the taker was going to go thanks to thorough research beforehand. Whoever is in goal that research will be the same. I assume that Benteke takes penalties frequently, in which case they'll have known if he has a usual direction and if there was a pattern then either Jak or Marshall or whoever will have been told to go that way if he takes a penalty. If he doesn't take them regularly, or there isn't an identifiable pattern, then clearly they'd just guess, as most keepers do most of the time. It looks good if you guess right, less so if you don't. Nothing to see here.
If players stop passing to someone who is making runs and available, then that tells you everything you need to know.
That the other players don't have the same attacking mindset? That they don't trust the player? They they don't have the awareness? I suppose it depends which point you are trying to prove as to what it tells you.
Are you suggesting that a team full of internationals and Premier League experience don't have the same attacking mindset or awareness as Henriksen?
have you seen our games this season? Not exactly full of forward passing attacking intent. Are you suggesting a team full of professionals would refuse to pass to a player in a good position?
Yes and yes. Ive oft heard professional footballers say precisely that if they don't trust the player in possession.
Listenting to TS this morning, Jim White/ Redknapp/ AN Other and they were discussing Everton and Ashley Williams. The comment came up that a Central Defender is only as good as the keeper behind him and they said Steklenberg is not a Premiership keeper.... go figure!!!
Sorry, Philip but... How to stay in the Premier League Play two ****ing strikers, Bring back the Jak, Kick out the Allams, How about that? Trade not with Dan Levy, Ban all the cheats, Hang all the divers Stay on your feet!
