If they simply said "You're ****e, get over it" the English public and media would I'm sure react like rational adults and definitely not start an unjust witch hunt. For years we've heard all these foreign managers and players coming into the PL and telling us how wonderful these English players and coaches are and that its only a matter of time before you win or make an impact at a major tournament but its been 20 years since the last time you did something decent at a tournament. There's always an excuse why you couldn't succeed, even before this winter break business, you've blamed your failures on things such as the Beckham red, Rooney injury, Rooney red etc. which entirely misses the point that the system as a whole is failing.
Sorry I thought you said the English complained about no winter break and used it as an excuse why the national team don't do well. I pointed out the English FA et al seem quite alright with no break or no doubt they would change it.
As I have said on two or three different occasions. A winter break won't make English players better or squads not able to compete at the later stages of EL or CL better.
English clubs won while the league had no winter break while European clubs did.........England also wins WC It's not opinion
Because the league wasn't as competitive and top teams could rest their players during league games more frequently. Can't do that these days.
Didn't have highly tuned athletes and three subs back in the glory days. No sports science and no advanced pitches. The league was more competitive, it is less so now.
