just been reading about it mate, point taken, shame that the supporters are holding the clubs back...
Rangers and Celtic would tear up the EPL and within 5 years would be challenging for honours, I'm not being arrogant, that's just the way it is. We both struggle to compete with the money on offer in the big leagues, for intance, IF Rangers win the SPL this season, we will get the sum of ã1.5m from SKY, where as if West Hame get relegated, they get ã20m plust a parachute payment of ã7m. As for the fans, like every club, we have moronic fans, IF the EPL move ever happened (which it won't) there would be trouble in the first few years just with the sheer excitement of playing your Manyoos and Chelseas. Then it would die down. Goodluck with your relegation fight.
New teams come up from the Championship every season so it wouldnt make much of a difference other than different grounds to go to, but as many of you say its not worth all the carry on and trouble it may cause. Personally I am more excited about QPR & Norwich coming up than if Celtic/Rangers were to
The first point to put right here is that Sunderland are not involved in a relegation fight! Secondly, you may be right about all fans having their moronic element; but the difference being that all fans don't post bombs to their rivals manager!
I see no benefits to the EPL in general or to us specifically in having the Glasgow clubs in our league. I can see why they would like to jump south, but the cons outweigh the pro's. The clubs in the English north would take most of the hooligan backlash too.
Would agree that the violence would be at every game. But be serious Scottish football is never going to catch on. i mean Murphy and Kyle is up there for ****s sake
it'll never happen, nor should it. EDGE is right though, given time, fan base and a cut of EPL money, they would become monster clubs, no question.
