South Africa's Test captaincy is not up for discussion and will return to AB de Villiers once he is match fit. De Villiers has been sidelined since July with an elbow injury and has been replaced by Faf du Plessis, who has yet to lose a match in his stand-in stint, but will have to hand the job back when de Villiers returns.
"At the moment it's clear to us that Faf is stand-in captain and AB is the current captain when he comes back, looking at his fitness and so on," Linda Zondi, South Africa's convener of selectors, said after the Hobart Test.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) says it is "disappointed" South Africa captain Faf du Plessis has appealed against his fine for ball-tampering.
Television footage appeared to show the 32-year-old licking a finger and shining the ball while eating a sweet in the second Test against Australia.
Du Plessis pleaded not guilty to the charge and denied wrongdoing, claiming he had been made a "scapegoat".

Adelaide Oval will host the first-ever day/night Ashes Test next year, following the announcement of the 2017-18 Australian summer schedule.
However, the WACA ground in Perth could be set to miss out of hosting the third Test, in favour of the new purpose-built Perth Stadium, subject to ongoing discussions with the Western Australia government.
The series will begin, once again, at the Gabba in Brisbane, on November 23, and will conclude with back-to-back Tests at Melbourne and Sydney over the Christmas and New Year period. The fifth Test, at the SCG, begins slightly later than usual, on January 4.

Umpire Paul Reiffel has dismissed the idea of wearing a helmet while officiating in Test matches, despite suffering a concussion after being hit by a fielder's throw on the first day of the fourth Test of the ongoing India-England series. Reiffel is currently home in Melbourne, after the ICC deemed him unfit to take the field in the final Test in Chennai
