Its a red card all day long and then a completely different game. Dickie was sent off a few weeks ago for similar but far less blatant circumstances. The twat last night even had the good sense to make sure the contact was before Dykes got in the box.
Toney ran thirty yards to exact some retribution by hacking one of ours down from behind....no card. Innocuous challenge by hamalainen gets a yellow for his first offence!
Brentford defender screams obsceneties at a linesman, nothing, Ball thows the ball to the floor...yellow!

I have alluded to this before but for whatever reasons (maybe FFP) we always seem to get harshly treated by officials. Maybe I am just paranoid.

As Kurt Cobain once sang - "Just because you're paranoid

    Some thoughts on last night.......

Watched via hesgoal stream with with Danish/Sewdish/Norwegian commentary so at least I avoided the apparent Sky Brentford Love in, but also not many replays of key incidents......

First half we played some lovely football, crisp passing into feet, good movement, looked a really good side......but prior to their first goal we didn't create any chances despite dominating possession and territory...... Not sure why the goal scorer was allowed so much space but it was a good strike although someone should have been charging out at him from the edge of the box......

Terrific goal by us, great pace by BOS and cross at speed, really well taken by Dykes......Dykes general hold up play in first half was good and always looked to bring others into play......All in all there wasn't any weak performance first half, Dieng got away with one Lumleyesq moment but made a fine save to redeem himself, still looks a confident keeper......

The Red card incident changed the game, everything that is a Red Card was in that moment - Denied goal scoring opportunity, Last man, No attempt to play the ball...It was a straightforward decision that the ref ballsed up......one of many. Nico booked for a coming together, Toney booting players in the air all night, no card at all!!!!!

But we were well worth 1-1 at HT.

Second half they bring a couple of subs, one to basically take care of Dykes. Within the first minute he goes through Dykes, no card just a don't be a naughty boy......and so it continued. They were happy to over run the midfield and have men behind the ball and counter attack, they do that very well....

Poor defending for 2nd goal as others have said, Nico didn't attack the ball or stay goal side of Toney.....

We didn't really look like scoring after that......

It's annoying to lose to them but that was so much better than the last couple of games at Griffin Park......We're not far off being a decent side there are more positives than negatives....

One last thing Toney cost more than our entire squad last night........

    Up the R's

Their first goal, should have been closed down by some one closing down the goal scorer, but the ball came through a number of players Dieng had no chance. The second I have down to Kane. Kane was marking no one in the space infront of Toney and Nico. If kane had dropped back the ball to Toney would never have been on, and even if they had tried it Kane would have been in the way. I disagree wiith the fact that a CB should have been there, they were marking the bidg players running in deeper...Nico would have been far worse there than against Toney. No it was Kane who should have prevented that goal imho

The Red card was a red card all day long....and for me it was hand ball on the floor for the penalty too . He fell on the ball and protected it with his arm and shoulder....and as we all know now...that is hand ball.

I keep telling myself that it is swings and roundabouts and Kakay got away with a penalty gainst Rotherham .
The pendulem will come back in our favour again
In the light of the day I agree with everything Trammers said

The referee was indeed diabolical last night. You're spot on with all of those talking points from last night's game.

However, I don't think there's any kind of conspiracy. I just think that there is a lot of incompetency out there in refereeing in the UK now. So many referees have so many bad habits and referee out of routine, rather than properly observing what's happening.

I came to the conclusion that there's a bit of an old boy's club and a lot of the refs are basically lazy and just want to turn up and get paid, rather than having the hassle of making difficult decisions. They've worked out how to look busy without being challenged by what's happening on the pitch. Why give a red card and have loads of players surrounding you when you can just give a yellow. This kind of thing happens all the time now.

According to Dean Ashton on EFL show last night it was "the most obvious red card of the season ".....:headbang:

He gets beaten to death with an enormous dildo in front of his kids. It’s arguably harsh but they have to set an example.
